Last winter was harsh but the course is in excellent condition. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for here. Challenging but forgiving. Never caught the group ahead of us but never pushed by group behind us either. At one point on back nine it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Looking forward to playing here again soon.

This is a really great course with one of my top 3 favorite holes I play.

It's a par 3 that follows a really amazing par 5. when you get up to the tee box, the green is some 500-600 yards away. What? Yup, and it's over trees and a stream, whaaaaat? Straight downhill. There's a sign in the tee box and sometimes a marshal that says something like, use your 140-yard club. So with a nine in hand, I hit it straight out and drops like a dart onto the green. If you're not straight, you're dead and there's a drop zone down the hill, but it is so incredibly fun.

PS: There's no driving range at the course, but there is one right down the road about a mile away.

I have been playing this course since 2015 and love the lay out with the mountains in the backdrop. The front 9 is more open yet still tight with nature scape boundaries and the back is tight mountain course through the trees. I rarely pull out a driver unless it's a par 5. The course conditions took a beating in 2020 & 2021 and the team has been doing a great job recovering. The course is almost back to prime condition and I am really looking forward to fall foliage change in the aspen trees, and cooler temperatures. The staff and team is always on top of their game in terms of service and really cater to all types of golfers.

We came to Schaffer's Mill to check out a potential family vacation home. As part of our stay, we were given access to the club. We stopped in after sledding nearby and the staff was beyond friendly. They told us about the dinner and live music that was taking place that night, and got us a reservation to attend that. The music was really good. Our toddler was dancing and having the time of her life (with the other kiddos who were also in attendance.) It is the kind of place where everybody seems to know each other and you can bring small kids without worrying about getting dirty looks. The perfect vibe for us.

My husband and college grad son played during the 4th of July weekend. What a great time we all had! The course was in very good condition although our son and I had to search for a few of his lost balls -- ha ha!

It was a great time on this course.

Not sure if our doggie was allowed, but he and I stayed in the cart the whole time with me while we watched the guys play.

I think golf courses should have small "golf service dogs" who love you during good or bad shots and are there for you to celebrate those great shots with "doggie kisses"

The course is very nice and reasonable but the homeowner living in one of the homes along the course was downright rude and obnoxious. You would think living next to a golf course, the owner would expect a few errant golf balls but the homeowner threatened to sic her large dog when I walked on her driveway (not her yard) to retrieve my ball. She continued screaming and cussing for a full 5 minutes as I walked away. It made for a bad experience in an otherwise nice day.

Difficult but fair. Course in excellent shape. Fairways require precision to score well but wide enough to offer some forgiveness for high handicappers like me. I am a 19 and scored 90. Greens rolled true. Staff friendly and helpful. Will return
