There's some impressive fresh produce on display at the market of course, as well as some frozen game, some jarred sauces and various alcoholic drink stalls, etc. Music was provided by a choir and then a two man band, so fun to have something playing in the background as you shop and relax. Where the market doesn't meet its full potential is there wasn't enough variety in the food being offered go eat there and then on the day as a snack/meal - at least not on the day I took a look around, really only two or three stalls to choose from where maybe I expected five or six? Call me greedy.

Papercourt lake is a 5 minute walk from Send and about 15 minutes walk, from the centre of Ripley. There are a few laybyes around the lake, but it is probably best if you are driving to use the free small car park in Newark Lane .Walking around the lake past the Papercourt Sailing Club is very peaceful and there is plenty of wildlife to spot. It is popular with dog walkers. In the winter months parts can get rather muddy, so you will need to wear the appropriate footwear. There are no toilet facilities on the walk.

There is free parking on Ropley green where there is cricket pitch and a children play ground At times during the year a fair is set up on the edge of the green. It is very popular with dog walkers and there are a number of walks you can start from here including passing Walshaw Lock , Ockham Mill and the River Wey going towards Pyrford in one Direction or Send in the other. It is suitable for all ages

Delightful 12thC church with some interesting stained glass windows. Very poignantly Eric Clapton's young son Connor is buried in the churchyard nestled up against the church.

Beautiful lock with a few bridges and water features. One of my favourite on the river. Good for wildflowers and unusual birdlife if your lucky.

Not far away from the RHS gardens in Wisley is the village itself and the parish church which was built in 1150, with a later porch and vestry.

Wisley itself appears in the Doomsday Book of 1086 and the church sits alongside a medieval brick barn.

In the graveyard is a small, but sad, gravestone to twins born in 1872, one only living for 7 months, the other for 10 months.

Ockham Mill is a blast from.the past with its water wheel and stream. It is very scenic and can.easily be included with a slight diversion on walk along Wet Navigation or Ripley Green. A good photogaphic opportunity.

Dunsborough Park is only open an certain days throughout the year. One can check their website for full details It certainly worth a visit. It offers 62 acres of landscaped splendour. Dating back to the fourteenth century, the estate has witnessed a fascinating history shaped by a range of characters and events to create unique charm and atmosphere within glorious surroundings. It has a superb collection of antique garden art and ornaments, many originating from the gardens of the great European treasure houses, adds an exceptional grandeur and distinction to these beautiful gardens. Dunsborough House itself dates back to 1630. it has a lovely courtyard and some Edwardian greenhouses
