Lovely resort, great food and awesome staff. My only complaint is that it was a little hard to get dinner reservations at the time that we wanted to eat. But, the buffet was always a walk-in option and it was great. I would highly recommend a visit here.

We took a catamaran out to the island! Great food drinks and culture! It was a great time. We got to see dolphins, starfish, drank coconut water from a coconut, and pina coladas from a pineapple. Our guide was fantastic!

Be prepared to spend some money. Beach was amazing and beautiful, had an amazing time there even took pictures with a monkey was pricey. Food was delicious omg best I've had. I just feel like they know when tourist is there and that's when they try to raise their price. But overall I had amazing time.

Such a beautiful place! We opted to drive ourselves here instead of going with a larger guided group and that was definitely the right choice for us. By staggering with the larger groups, we were able to get some time in the lagoons by ourselves. We saw a massive iguana on the trail. We gave each other space and were able to get around it without disturbing each other. The entrance fee was $50 USD and it was worth it. Don’t skip this place!

This was an amazing day trip! Wear comfortable shoes and your swimsuit! Hoyo Azul is gorgeous and fun! The staff were wonderful and we all laughed and cheered each other on to jump in! Take plenty of cash, as there is an opportunity to buy photo packages that we were not aware of, so missed out, but we had waterproof cell phone cases so we got a few videos and photos.

Very nice swimming with only small waves and very clean water. You can see lots of fishes in the shallow water.

A lovely beach with even better people! Anthony was our server whenever we did a beach day, and he was very attentive to us all day (we would spend at least 5-6 hours), he was super courteous, and the drinks were great!! Awesome experience and would definitely visit again :)

The waves are strong but once you pass the place where they break out you can just lie on top of the waves and let yourself go for hours.

We went to Padre Nuestra Cave - we just drove to the park, paid 200Pesos per person entrance, and then 1.4 km further at the park entrance met a guide who offers a full tour for free (plus tips) which was absolutely awesome. He took us through the whole park, showed us the local plants, took photos and most importantly helped us on the last cave where you can swim in the dark in refreshing waters. You can also see the carving of the indigenous people here in this cave.
Ramon (the Guide) is very knowledgable and friendly, we actually ended up giving him 1000 Pesos as a tip which was worth it.
Can highly recommend this for any nature lovers! Bring good shoes, mosquito spray, water and bathing suit- no need for snorkelling gear as it’s too dark to see much in the Cave. We spent a total of almost 3 hours here.

Wasn't sure what to expect really. This was SO fun,we're already seeking a return trip with Mrs. Don Julio!! Now that we have our bearings down, we're ready to kick it up a notch. Keep those cards HOT in the casino, Senor Diablo-ito!

Beautiful cave walking distance from Bayahibe! The cost is 200 pesos per person to enter the park, where you can walk a loop and visit 2 caves. The Chicho cave is the main attraction that you can swim in, and it has lovely, clear blue water. I would recommend bringing a waterproof flashlight as it is quite dark, but with a light you can really appreciate the interesting rock formations. Totally worth the trip. Just a warning there will be guides at the start asking if you want a tour, but you don't really need one as the path is well defined and forms an easy loop back to the beginning. The second cave at the end of the loop is not really a cave as you do not enter it, but it again has beautiful clear blue water with a large tree with roots overlying it which makes for a pretty picture.

Good and clean beach, but beware of your surroundings and belongings. Compared to other beaches this is better.

Water and beach great. Other tourists who are loud and intrusive, not good. Locals are great in here.

we visited this beautiful cave from taking a buggie tour and it was well worth it. the picturesque cave is so beautiful. It had long lines with locals and visitors trying to get in the cave pool. I couldn't get to dive in cause my son did not want to dive so I couldn't leave him. but taking pictures and just being there was all worth it for us. Thank me later when you see this beautiful cave. enjoy

We heard about this cave from another couple at the resort and decided to go on adventure. There was a guide near the concrete structure that charged us $5US entrance fee. We met another couple on the beach that joined us. We were told it was a 30m hike but it was 45m.
It was May so therefore wicked hot. There aren’t any signs along the way so please follow the foot path. As you go along there are many small holes in the ground and lots of plants to see. We enjoyed seeing the huge termite nests and the cacti.
There is one small sign once you get to the cave and as you walk up you’ll probably ask yourself if this is really it.
Once you enter the cave (don’t worry the floor is solid) you’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel (literally). The cave is huge and opens up towards the end.
It’s absolutely breathtaking albeit hot and humid in May.
Definitely have a flash light (we used the flash lights on our cellphones.
As you head back towards the last 10m you can walk towards the ocean and finish your hike along the beach.
    Worth it!
