A great tour guide, Max, did an amazing job leading us through the history of this part of the city of Tampa. Telling the story in chronological order while walking us through cobblestone streets and pointing out architectural details. He narrated the story of Vicente Martinez Ybor and his cigar making operation, explaining how he picked this location and acquiring laborers. He also spoke of Jose Marti and his influence on the Cuban population.
Max was very considerate of his listeners comfort in the hot summer day, leading us into shaded areas along the route.
Definitely a must for history buffs both tourists and locals.
