- Deborah H1 contributionI adore visiting this farm. Silver Charm, my favorite horse of all time, is a resident there. He looks terrific--clear eyes, a great coat, and friendly. He gave me a wet, muddy kiss and I swore I'd never wash my face again. I love the staff at the Farm--they are so friendly and knowledgeable. Being there is a walk through history. Thank goodness for Michael Blowen. There is no shortage of love.
These horses seem quite happy. They peeled back their top lips and nodded their heads to get some carrots. Several of the horses were clowning around--very entertaining. All racehorses deserve to live out their lives on a retirement farm--safe and secure. It was recommended to us while touring another distillery by several in group. You sample as much as you want from about 75 or so barrels, then choose your own blend. They bottle, you name the blend and choose the bottle shape and wax colors for the seal. The shop is full of fun things, including apples, cider, sweet treats and gifts. The yards and grounds were beautiful! So nice to see people who want to keep these historic homes preserved. The building is much bigger than it appears and has 3 floors full of antiques and collectibles! There is something for everyone in every price range. I am a (mostly) old photo and paper collector and there was a lot in this store. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. It's also in a quaint historic district with beautiful old architecture. The building itself is very old and I was also interested in the history of that too. - Daniel I24 contributionsWe went there several times when our daughter was in pre-school and early elementary school. It is one of the nicer family orchard experiences. The crowd is pretty mild and the kids attractions are fun. They went above and beyond to help me make our group's visit to Georgetown a success. Georgetown is a well-kept town. The hanging flower baskets all over town were beautiful. People in the group kept commenting on how clean the town was. The store fronts were well kept also. - Brian MAvilla, IN210 contributionsWhile in Georgetown, we stopped here for a first visit. Make sure you have more than an hour to invest here, as there are a lot of booths to cover. We have tried several other places for our daughter and the owner of this place (Ms. Vickie) is the nicest and most genuine person you will ever meet. The employees are great with the kids and our daughter loved the horse camp this summer. - Rob WPort Washington, WI5 contributionsHad an awesome time with the 90-minute ride. We're intermediate riders and had a blast with this woody ride. The guides were fun and energetic while the horses were each friendly.
This entire trail was in the trails of mixed terrain, hills and narrow paths through a nice woods. We had a 90+ degree day with full sun, the woods were shady and not many bugs. Soooo much better than any field rides for kids.
There was a couple stops for pictures, which the guides were happy to help out.
