What travellers are saying
- Chenell "NellNell"Madisonville, KY223 contributionsMy sister Cashea, dog Pablo and I took our first walk of the year here. The walking path near the lake is paved and wheelchair approved. The path is a little uphill though. There are benches to rest. There is plenty of parking. Fun for all ages. We took some photos.
I will summit a different review of the kids playground at the park.Written 14 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - L.Peyton Adams42431Madisonville, KY16 contributionsI walk the wellness park and do Tai Chi under the tall trees near the west end so I can hear the wind chimes at the pond in the wind and the laughter of children playing on the playground set while relaxing in the shade of those trees. You can visit stations with different exercises along the way clearly marked and have a moment with nature to restore yourself.Written 30 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- kbgambsMadisonville, KY56 contributionsThe Woman's Club of Madisonville did a great job putting these three walking tours together for Madisonville. They're informative without being overwhelming and provide for a nice afternoon wandering around town.Written 3 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- L.Peyton Adams42431Madisonville, KY16 contributionsThe cabin was moved as Ruby Laffoon's birthplace to the Historical Society site at great effort by the Society to honor the Governor born in Madisonville who was a rival to Happy Chandler and got the TB Hospital built locally. It shows how life was when he was a boy. There is even a cabinet built from the wood of a tree that grew at his place. You can see his photos above the mantle.Written 30 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- L.Peyton Adams42431Madisonville, KY16 contributionsI like the hiking trails to relax, and there is a quiet spot near the lake and the clubhouse where I have attended outdoor weddings, sat and watched the geese, and listened to bird calls. I have historical meetings near Christmas there and the clubhouse is handy, large enough, with kitchen facilities for potlucks and has clean restrooms.Written 21 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Amy6 contributionsTourism is doing so much for Hopkins County! Who knew there was so much going on? The storefront on Sugg Street is full of great brochures and Miners baseball souvenirs.Written 13 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Valarie DDawson Springs, Kentucky30 contributionsI actually joined their weekly Produce Program and what a treat that has been. I pick my Produce up every week and we enjoy fresh eats all week. We are set up on a 2 person plan and we have plenty of wonderful fresh produce. Do not have to go to the store and wonder how long it has been packaged or where it came from. My produce is fresh and grown in Hopkins County!Written 15 August 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- L.Peyton Adams42431Madisonville, KY16 contributionsThe museum is in the second floor of the original library building back to 1922 with a tour that takes you from political history, Civil War, WW!, WWII, Indian artifacts, fossils, looms, early farming tools, wooden washing machines and irons made to heat in a coal grate, to US Milk Company memorabilia, and a bullet filled bank robbers suit who was shot down by police in Madisonville. In the first floor there are newspaper history going back to the 1900's, folders on old churches, schools, coal mines, Christmas parades, 40 years of Yearbooks, a gift shop, and tours of the Ruby Laffoon cabin, and the Buick building where one of the earliest cars in Hopkins County history can be seen.Written 30 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tammy CBremen, KY12 contributionsHopkins County has an awesome public library with plenty of services . I just wish it was in a more convenient location.Written 7 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- L.Peyton Adams42431Madisonville, KY16 contributionsWe have a historical marker by the highway detailing the importance of Munn's Schoolhouse where many of my friends tell me stories of attending a one room schoolhouse. My mom grew up at Smyrna Schoolhouse near Coiltown and could figure in her head on the back of a Kroger receipt as fast as someone could do with a calculator. The pot belly stove, the wooden desks with cast iron sides and ink wells are part of the education of the Greatest Generation that did so much for us. The Pennyrile Herb Garden sells herbs there the first weekend in December and are a wonderful asset to our community.Written 31 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- L.Peyton Adams42431Madisonville, KY16 contributionsThe facility for our meetings has handicapped access, clean restrooms, a sound system, projector and large TV screen for showing Powerpoints and video, comfortable seating, and a clean facility with good parking.Written 21 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kimberly SEvansville, IN105 contributionsSo often we here “there is nothing to do” in our rural community, but there is a great place where you can stretch your mind muscles and have a great time here! We had so much fun and the staff is great.Written 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jenny P9 contributionsSkyview Skatepark is a MUST. If you are rolling through western Kentucky, stop in and check the place out. Park layout is awesome, and the artwork is sick. The locals are super friendly, and always down to kick it.Written 10 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- kbgambsMadisonville, KY56 contributionsI had the pleasure of attending Level Up's grand opening in December and had a great time! They have a wide array of games (including some classics), price for play is very inexpensive, and the folks running the place are so wonderful. Can't wait to see their tournaments!Written 8 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
