Been going to Reid state park for over 30 years. It's always been one of my very favorite places on the planet. I was a little sad and to see the level of erosion this summer which I believe was caused by some of the intense storms we've been having. Still one of my happy places. I would caution anybody to bring bug spray if you are a person that bugs like to bite. The horse flies were pretty bad when I was just there. I just slapped it on the bug spray and had a great day anyways. It's fun to go to the little lagoon area or to walk around some of the other portions of the beach where the little tide pools are it's always a good day.

Georgetown Pottery, what a trip! I travelled from England to Long Island, then we headed to rockport Massachusetts to break up the travel. Onwards to Freeport Maine to see the pottery. Unfortunately the store is now permanently closed, so we travelled onto Georgetown, the original store. We were not disappointed! What a great store and what a wonderful selection of pottery. So much choice it was hard not to buy everything!!!

Incredible experience visiting this beautiful light station! The views are stunning from the light house and really anywhere you look. The island has well kept trails to hike . Some are steep but it just adds to the experience. The summer light house keepers are very welcoming to visitors and enthusiastically told about the history.
We brought food and had a wonderful time!

Eros is down a winding one-lane dirt road on Georgetown Island. Their floating cage farm turns out oysters with a distinctly sweet flavor, compared with brine-forward oysters from nearby producers.

You can take a scheduled tour, but the main draw is oysters to go. Think of it like a classic roadside farm stand where you select fresh produce and leave cash in the honor box. At Eros you haul up the pick box, select your oysters and place in the supplied mesh bag, pay with cash or Venmo. If you need an oyster knife you can buy one of those too.

Georgetown Island just celebrated its 302nd anniversary and you can use this unique local resource to learn a lot about its history, its habitat, and its people, from the modern era back to its native history. The Society sponsors great talks and has wonderful materials on site. A great spot for a rainy day on the island or a drop in while making your way around town. And there is a lovely nature walk just behind it!

Amazing handcrafted items from quilts to art all made by local talented seniors citizens. My wife loves their one of a kind seat belt cushions. The pens made of wood, there were some great quilts depicting fire fighters that I hadn't seen before. They always have new things to look at and of course purchase. For us this is a must stop on the Georgetown square.
