    Just saw Gutenburg the musical.
We have been going for several years .This was the funniest show
We have ever seen .It was laugh out loud stuff. The actors are amazing ,playing so many differant parts ! The meal on a scale of 1-10 was a 25.No way anyone could eat that much home made food which includes drink and desert ! The service
    Was outstanding by the actors.
This show is a must see !

I had no idea that they continued the path past Hamburg toward Whitmore Lake! Stops at 9 mile, where you can grab a snack or water at McDonalds, Burger King or Arbys. If you go the other direction, you can go all the way to Stockbridge! Happy trails!

Generally, we have great experiences camping at state parks. We enjoyed our stay at the Bruin Lake campground...although it felt like there were two different camping experiences available here!

The "lower" campground, by the lakefront, had a very modern and updated shower/bathroom building, lake views and access, and very much a friendly, open vibe. The downside is that there is very little shade in this area, so if that's important (or if it's very hot), the lower area may not be for you. However, we liked this area the best of the campground.

We had a spot on the "upper" campground, near the older shower house/restrooms. There was a much different "vibe" here (although admittedly extremely shaded). The shower house/bathroom itself, while being older, as also always crowded, and the bathroom and shower stalls seemed to be always dirty; they weren't nearly as clean as the lower level, and didn't seem to get the TLC that we see at other parks.

The grounds themselves were very good. There were several hiking trails....oh, yeah, and those chains of lakes!! Having access to kayaks on the chain of lakes this park sits around is incredible, providing a lot of opportunity to spend a LOT of time on the water!

Sad to say, this course has suffered. But now in 2022, it is under new management, and the course has improved immensely. It was still a bit rough on the edges, but the new people are doing a great job to get it back to shape. We really enjoyed our round, and we plan to get back again soon.

Whispering Pines is a very nice course. Some of the hole designs are incredible. I am not a long hitter, but straight. Because of this, I do not find it tight, but most people do. The front 9 plays around homes, and only on #8 (and maybe #1 and #10) do the homes EVER come in play, and only then for sloppy slicing drivers or 2nd shot hookers. And this is because left is OB on #8. The back nine is more spacious, and it feels like you are up north or maybe in North Carolina. The greens are consistent and very fair. My only minor complaint is that sometimes the greenskeeper seems to drop too much fertilizer or forget to water.... and the first few fairways get burnt every June. This needs to be STOPPED in 2022!!!!

The par 3s are all terrific and very different. In order, the first par 3 requires an up-hill short to mid iron, the next takes an up-hill LOOOONG iron or wood, the next is over wetlands and takes a mid to long iron, and the last is a slightly up-hill short iron. You will NOT hit the same basic 5 or 6 iron on every par 3! (I hit a 6 or 7, then a 3 iron or 5 wood, then a 3 or 4 iron, and then a 7 or 8 iron. FUN!)

My favorite hole on the the course is #10 -- a short dog leg right that penalizes too long straight drives and slices... all you need is a 180-200 yard drive and a sand or pitching wedge... but I have seen people shoot 10 on this fun little hole!

The clubhouse is fine, though the last 2 years have been tough because good people are likely hard to keep because of Covid. Overall this course is the best kept secret and value in Livingstone County. But it's worth a drive!

Called and was able to make a reservation for a few hours later. Found the stable on the navigation system which is no easy feat in that neck of the woods. FWI the sign out front says Waterloo. Got out of the car and explained to my daughter that this is what they mean by silence is deafening, after the noise of the car. It was absolutely peaceful and serene. We walked up to the barn and instantly felt like I was at good friends home. We sat and talked with Lisa like ole friends. The owner Shelly came out and has one of those genuinely beautiful smiles that lights up everything around. She has a perfectly loud commanding voice with a happiness that reminds u of Mrs Claus. Yup that one. My teens have only ridden a few times and our 14 yr old is a bit on the timid side. These folks were so wonderfully soothing my dtr relaxed easy. I stayed back to enjoy my book while my girls had some time to themselves and I was equally as impressed with how other patrons were handled. Girls came back exactly an hour after they left the gate with great big smiles and a lasting impression of the best ride they've ever had. Thanks. SO. Much. We will be back!!

THis is a very nice place to get your relaxation mode on. They were not crowded when I went which made it so nice not to stand in line. They were very prompt to get to me and the massage was great. I felt so much better leaving out than walking in.

Awesome service, knowledgeable staff, clean boats time well spent with family!!!! The staff were well versed in covering all the rules of safe boating and warned us about potential trouble spots like sandbars.
