We used Windy's in 2022 and 2023 for our float trips on the Current River. We had them ferry us and our gear up to Akers Ferry for a nice 3 day float back to their location. They were very helpful and accommodating each year. In 2022, we had to wait a day to put in because of thunderstorms, so we just did our same 3 day float a day later, no problem.

I have enjoyed these sorts of multi-day trips on the Current going back to the 80s. I don't remember so much wildlife back then. I really cannot recommend floating the Current highly enough. Absolute beginner canoeists will get a workout, but should still be able to manage as long as someone in the group has some experience.

The primitive camping is great, but very basic. No tables or fire rings, really just a gravel campsite. The gravel rocks are are maybe 2 inches or so. Have lots of stakes if you need any because the gravel doesn't hold them well. Sandals of any type aren't going to work well for you. Not even those nice Tevas that are otherwise great for water sports.

Windy's has a beautiful location for canoeing and have helped make two absolutely beautiful trips a success.

Harvey’s staff is top notch. We had an incident on the river that resulted in our private canoe getting severely wedged on a strainer underwater. We hiked out and made contact with the campground host at Alley Spring who was less then helpful and offered no advice. By chance we went by Harvey’s as they were closing. The nice lady behind the counter was not only sympathetic, but went out of her way to provide help. She had no reason to help us as we had not used Harvey’s for shuttle or rental. She got us in contact with Bradley, who went out the next morning and cut the boat out. We only
Lost a fishing pole. My wallet and phone spent a night in the jacks fork, in a waterproof container that was clipped to the boat. We never got to
Meet Bradley, but he’s a superhero. Not knowing his identity only adds to
His legend. Thank you Harvey’s, Bradley, and the nice young lady at the counter. You will have my business from here on out. Kindness still exists in this world.

Great floating company. They came to our campsite and picked us up and when we were done, they took us back. Easy to book with, are flexible if you have a problem with the weather, and reasonably priced. Floating the Current River was great!

Went with a group of around 20 and everything was spot on. Great service at the store and on time pickup. We did take a little detour on the way to a put in one day, but everything worked out just fine. I recommend them to anyone looking for a great float trip. They are at the confluence of two of the most beautiful rivers in this area.

When I was a kid we would go every summer to Alley Springs. We camped at the Circle B campground. My fondest memories was walking in to the cold water with the fish nipping at my feet. The water was crystal clear and cold. But I remember how much I loved it. That was 50 years ago. Since I've had a family and grandchildren I share this memory with them. I tell my friends that visit about Eminence and how much they would enjoy going there. It's relatively close to us and it's a beautiful senic drive. I recently took my bf. We stayed at Ech Bluffs and was surprised to see the Shannon County wild horses. I am a horse lover and this was magical. Not a lot of people know we have wild horses right here in Missouri. We went canoeing on the Currant River for 5 hours. The weather was perfect. We went horse bavk riding at Spring Valley Trails. Theresa was fabulous. I definitely suggest you ride with her.

First I must say that our two instructors/companions were professional, friendly, and really wanted us to have a good time.

Now, there are 5 trips along the lines and each is a really trip. Pardon the pun. The problem is that if you don't assume the correct position when sailing along the cable you will not make the next landing. The results in you having to pull yourself hand over hand to the platform: very tiring.

My wife is a small person and she didn't make any of the first 3 crossings. In fact neither she or I completed the tour, stopping after 3 trips. Our friend completed the tour and did make all the crossing except one.

For people who are better athletes or in better shape this adventure would be really cool. I'm 70 and it was a little excessive for me.

We will not return but that is because of us not Eagle Falls Ranch. I will repeat, the people were very nice and treated us very well.
