- VaailSingapore, Singapore11 contributionsThere is a secret not many visitors and some locals know about. few locals have even been to. And its good to keep it that way to avoid spoiling a natural wonderWritten 6 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pierre-Alexandr... VDurban, South Africa1 contributionFuvahmulah and the people of Fuvahmulah are truly great. But avoid this place. Only way to see it is to pay an "entry fee" of 3usd...fair enough...but there is not much than. We rented a paddleboat. The equipment is defective, the "ranger" is not even maintaining basic security. Go to the other "lake"where you dont pay anything. Really not worth a visit for this place.Written 22 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- VaailSingapore, Singapore11 contributionsIts always had such beautiful character, however hated the new roof installed. totally ruined its glory. i urge the city council to restore the old roof to bring back its real history and character. Definitely a must stop for muslims to pray, learn a little history and admire the beautyWritten 6 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marijeta LozinaPisarovina, Croatia32 contributionsI’ve been coming back to Fuvahmulah Dive School 3 times . I’m very happy with their dive guides . Especially Niyaz, Richard, Zombie! And Asare, Ninty .and some I forgot to mention . Bob and Alham too, but they aren’t there any more . And many more . The boat is big and comfortable and I always had a space just for me close to the entrance to the ocean due to my leg problem .
I have been diving with them for 9 weeks all together through out the yrs and the last time I was there the private dive I asked for and I got to experience with them was out of this world . So thankful for all the care and safety and I’ve always felt taken care off. Special thanks to Niyaz and his photos!! And amazing dive buddy . Thanks for the Threshers !
Special thanks to Richard for being a great friend . Thank you brother! Thanks for finding me my favorite down there ! The Octopus!
Special thanks to Appu and Flem for grabbing my bcd at the exit of the Ocean. And a few more people I forgot their names . Special thanks for Marine Biologist Jamie and Lenny !
Take care everyone,

The team PDF has working there are an absolute credit, and I cannot stress how much of a positive impact this has and weaves through the entire experience. We felt so welcomed and part of the family from day one.
The dive centre itself is really nice to hang out at and the café does amazing drinks and ice cream which is made locally. All the dive gear we hired was excellently maintained, the safety briefing for the tiger sharks was thorough and very well explained, and the dive briefings on the boat were good too. The boat was super spacious and clean.
The tiger dives were just something else, and we feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to experience these encounters. Every single one of dive guides we were in the water with throughout the 6 days were unbelievably experienced and knowledgeable, and made the diving so much fun.
Safety was always at the forefront from the moment you stepped on the boat, to coming back up from the dives with all of the details being recorded and logged.
Filippo did an amazing presentation on the Tuesday night on Tiger Sharks which was super interesting and patient with our 101 questions, and the fact that PDF have an inhouse marine biologist is incredible. It was really cool just to see what he does on the dives and how the sharks are ID’ed and stuff.
We were blown away by the additional practices and activities that their operations also tap into; advocating constant sharing and participation in the studies of the tiger sharks, oceanic manta and whale sharks, going into the local schools to educate and engage the children, the implementation of sustainability practices and environmental awareness, empowering the local community and protecting the marine life…the list just goes on!
Every single person working there had a direct input in making the trip so incredibly memorable, Panda, Aivan, Roam, Hissan, Abu, Shaaz, Mode, Sarim and anyone I have missed off, thank you for everything.
A huge thank you to Ann; from the very first point of contact to the end of our stay, she went above and beyond for us, and we cannot thank her enough for helping us, particularly with the hotel issue etc.
Also, a very special thank you to Inah, you also made the trip for us. Hearing all about the islands history, culture and the stories of your grandfather and what you are doing for the community were so inspiring. And of course, the melon headed whales encounter… completely unexpected and something I could have only have dreamt of so, thank you.
Already looking forward to returning💙🦈🌊Written 10 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From the beginning the team at Extreme Dive Fuvahmulah were flexible and keen to create an experience tailored to us. It was easy to add an extra diving day, extend our stay, and rent a scooter to zip around the island. I can’t even put into words how incredible the diving was, we saw tigers, threshers, a hammerhead and oceanic manta rays. The whole team was professional yet so friendly, fun and passionate about their jobs and their island. The pool at the dive centre was perfect for lazy afternoons and I recommend convincing the guys to have a karaoke night!
Big thank you to Ibbey, Ansaar, Zafar, Ahmed, Ali and the rest of the crew for making our trip perfect! There are 8 dive operations on the island at the moment (3.2023). I felt very happy and comfortable with Fuvahmulah Dive School which has it's center right at the harbour. Local dive experts do their best to provide safe dives and protect you also from behind as you concentrate on the spectacular encounters with this impressive species. Go for it!Written 7 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Cris LElche, Spain1 contribution1. They are such an excellent team! Ricky is a great professional, caring, funny and always trying to make everyone happy. Samir, the crew member is super friendly and smiley, always helpful, happy and ready for a good chat. The Captain was very careful, and they always took their time, not like other diving centers in Maldives where they are always in a rush -Once, i almost got a ship strike for being trying to compensate more time than I normally need, he did reverse and i almost ended up with the propeller on me-.
2. Also, and even more important, he works with small groups of divers, which is imperative for a safe tiger shark dive.
3. He partners with different research projects and NGOs which is another positive point for me.
4. Never in my whole life i would imagine to see so many different species of marine wildlife, living free and happy in Mother nature, where they belong and never should leave. They are also happy to change the plan if there is something unexpected to see, just like today where we all agreed to go to see melonheaded whales instead of carrying on with the diving plan. -It's been one of the best days in my entire life, thank you Ricky ;)-
5. 100% chances to see one of the most beautiful sharks -tiger sharks-. In our check dive we saw a thresher shark at 18m depth 😱🥹😍Written 10 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Hospitality above anything ever experienced in any other scuba diving center I visited.

Since i contacted them, they made sure all my trip was organized according to my needs. They arranged accomodation, flights, dives and even a motorcycle to move around, so i wouldn't have to worry about anything but enjoy. The moment i arrived to Fuvahmulah and I meet them and Hussain (my guesthouse host) I felt like i was between friends. They made me feel so comfortable and at home, they asked me what I was expecting from my dives, and they were professional and so warm. You can tell that they r passionate and committed to they job.
The dives were just perfect! The way they interact with the marine life is so respectful and they prioritize your safety in every dive. They r extremely knowledged about the area and so are the boat crews, which btw, they are the kindest people!
For my last day they invited me to a bbq and truly they made me feel like part of their beautiful family!
They r definitely not like the big companies that just take u diving and their job is done. They r connecting with u in every moment of your trip and their customer service is out of this world!
I don't have enough words to thank them for making my trip so memorable, and i can only hope to see them again soon!
Thank u guys so much, your kindness and warmth set the bar for my next diving trip really high!!!Written 22 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In the past the local fishermen used to throw the rest of the fish, after cleaning, overboard at the harbor entrance. Now the dive centers have a slot of 30 minutes to go diving there. They will get some fish rests of the local fish market to attract the tiger sharks. Sometimes there were about 10 of them. If you want you get a stick as protection, but the dive guides are there anyway to protect you.
DivePoint is an excellent dive center with friendly and competent dive guides. They have a GPS system for every diver ( you're in the middle of the ocean, so if the current sweeps you away... ). During the surface interval we could stay on the boat which was either moored in the harbor or we would go out fishing. They also have their own residence, that we really can recommend.
They do dives of 45 minutes, but that was extended, when they notice that you're an experienced diver.
We also had tiger sharks during our safety stop in the blue and for me the highlight was seeing thresher sharks.Written 1 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
