Always great conditions when it hasn’t snowed in a while. Given its compact size the attention paid to grooming is outstanding . Seems people’s issues are with the rentals so if you have your own equipment should be fine. Just wish they had morning 1/2 days tix but groomed so well afternoon conditions were very good.

Quite a magnificent natural wonder - highly recommend if you're visiting the area. The Madison Boulder is a ~5,000 ton glacial erratic made of granite - which makes sense since it's found in the Granite State lol. Of course, the pictures don't do it justice and you can't really fathom the size just by reading the stats alone - it's an awe inspiring sight that you have to see to believe!

The boulder measures 87 feet long, 23 feet tall, and 37 feet wide. Also, the boulder is partially buried at about 10-12 feet underground! And recently scientists have been able to determine that the boulder is around 14,000 years old. Left behind all those years ago by a retreating glacier.

You'll find it down a dirt road with a small, rough dirt parking lot - there are some large, deep potholes so I recommend to drive slow and careful, especially with low clearance vehicles. But it's doable.

A short, very flat hike is required along a dirt road but it's well maintained and easy - about 1/2 mile one way. If you visit in fall, you'll be treated to some lovely colors along the way! I visited twice - mid to late October 2021 and early October 2023. Mid to late October had much more colors than early October but it also varies from year to year.

You'll find the boulder on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest and only a few miles away from The Kanc - a famous highway in NH for the fall colors. And there are lots of other attractions in the area - lots of rivers and vistas and things like that - as well as the historic Albany Covered Bridge which is a must see (less than 10 miles away).

It's free to visit and park - be aware there aren't any restrooms in the area. Google maps will take you right to it - but signal is nonexistent in the area so I recommend to download offline maps before you come.

Sadly, on my last visit, someone had put graffiti in several places on the boulder- but a park ranger was there to clean it up. Hopefully they were able to get it removed. I'll never understand why people feel the need to deface natural wonders like that - breaks my heart every time.

This park is a good destination any time of the year. It has a very nice picnic pavilion that's suitable for large groups. There are paved walkways that are good for seniors or toddlers learning to ride bikes. In winter, there is usually a skating rink set up.

This was such a wonderful experience that we all want snow mobiles! Ken Sweet was the intimate host while Tina fitted us with our gear. Don’t worry if you don’t own riding gear because they had it all. This husband and wife team have been offering guided tours for nearly thirty years and this experience shows in the way they run their business. The weather was unseasonably warm for this time of year and slightly hazy up top. Our group of 5 was treated to some spectacular scenery mixed with wildlife surprises. The bikes were all clean and ran perfectly. Sweet Rides has newer Ski-Do’s that show the dedication to their customers. Thank you Ken and Tina.

This course is a public course, people should remember that when placing a review. Rates are reasonable and course is fun to play. Buildings are extremely outdated and a ranger is needed on the course, saw a group of 6 golf carts and 10+ people teeing off all at once

This course is ice for a Mississippi course. The course is open and the greens are true. The staff is poor. They don’t treat people well and the members do not honor their tee times. I’ll never play at this course again. Me and other African American players have experienced racism and poor treatment. I would find somewhere else to play.

I can spend hours pouring over the incredible catalog of fascinating and beautiful stones, crystals, minerals, fossils, etc.

There's something for everyone here and at every price point. Got a lot of one-of-a-kind gifts for friends and family here that I'm sure they'll treasure!

Plus the owners are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I even purchased a couple of Alan's essential oil remedies for my aches and pains. I can't wait to return and peruse even more of the store!

I recently reserved a pontoon boat for our family. After seeing the 4hr rate and making the online reservation with my cc, I received an email a week or so later saying they “rebooked” me... at a cost more than 100$ more! I called to ask about it and was told that there was a “glitch” on their website and if I still wanted the rental it would be the more expensive price. Grrrrr! When our family got to WI, and the day before we were to go to Madison to get the pontoon boat, I got an email saying they were “rebooking” us to a different lake?! I called and was told that lake Moana had blue algae and we couldn’t boat on it so they are sending us to Lake Wisconsin. Find out the next morning it is double the distance for us! Grrrrr! When the employee from Jet Ski Madison meets us with the boat, I ask him why we were sent to a different lake. He proceeds to tell me that the owner doesn’t have a permit yet to launch boats at Lake Moana. They had previously used the public boat launch but could no longer do that. And, when we were in Madison the next day... lots of boats out on the water! Grrr!!
Now I’m wondering if they just lied to me about the pricing “glitch” as well. GRRRR!! The boat itself was average, no tube or rope to tow a tube, clean but older. We made the most out of our day and enjoyed the Lake. However, next time I will be renting from another company... too many shady circumstances.
