We had a great day at the beach. The beach was clean and the water was clear. The beach itself is quite large for a lake beach. They have ropes around the area you can swim in and there is plenty of room for kids to play and not be on top of one another. The bottom is sand and easy to walk around on. I did not step on any rocks once I got into the water. There are some small rocks as you get into the water.

There are several life guard chairs, but no life guards on duty. We found street parking no issue, but we also went mid afternoon to avoid some of the sun.

The whole area is nice to walk along the boardwalk and watch all the boats coming and going. Our family had a terrific time.

Our last day up here just happened to be the first day of this bike show. So we walked around for a while and watch the bikes go by and they had a few stands set up this year. I guess normally it's a lot bigger than what is going on this year but what we saw of it was really nice. I bet the riding
    out here is really nice.

Great value too. Many games were only 1 token to play. Some were 4 tokens for single player. Had so much fun playing the games we had as kids. Sunny day outside was in our favor since it wasn't busy. Guessing rain would bring more people in to play.

The Winnipesaukee Pier had that 1960's,70's feel with the little ice cream, doughnut and sandwich shops as well as the large game room. At the end was Anthony's Pier restaurant that had fantastic views of the mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee and Weirs Beach. The had boat rentals as well as Tiki Hut rentals and tours.

The Weirs Beach Boardwalk lies between the railroad tracks and the beach. It starts near the iconic Weirs Beach sign. It ends near a lakefront restaurant.

From its elevated position, one gets great views of the beach, the lake and the mountains in the distance.

There are numerous benches along the boardwalk.

There are several places where there are staircases that lead down to the beach or the water. One leads to the public dock. Another leads to the Winnipesaukee Pier.

The boardwalk is a great place for a stroll along the lakefront and enjoying the views.

During my visit Labor Day Week, there were still a lot of people visiting the beach, the boardwalk, and the shops as well as the pulling up the dock.

On my next visit, I want to walk the entire length.

I rate Weirs Beach Boardwalk at 4.25 and can recommend it.

The Weirs Beach Arrow Sign is a historic fixture and iconic symbol of Weirs Beach that has stood at the intersection of Lakeside Avenue and US-3/Daniel Webster Highway since July of 1956.

It’s a two-sized sign with about 200 feet of neon tubing and just short of 700 bulbs for the sequential arrow.

It was relocated to the traffic island during a restoration project in 2002.

I’ve been passing the sign for many years on my visits to Weirs Beach. It’s like a welcoming beacon to me.

For its history and pop culture value, I rate the Weirs Beach Arrow Sign at 4.25 and recommend pausing to admire it for a minute.

From pinball to ski ball this arcade has all the old school noisy fun you could ask for. Dozens of old machines to entertain you. Pretty sure nothing was missed. The pinball at a dollar a game is a bit pricey, but that was the only negative point. Almost all of the very old machines were in great repair and everything worked. This place will painlessly separate you from your quarters!

On vacation in the Lakes Region, one cloudy afternoon we visited the Half Moon complex. It has two game arcades ~ the Half Moon Penny Arcade which is next to Half Moon Pizza and Half Moon Family Fun Center at the opposite end ot the corner of Tower Street.

We visited the Half Moon Penny Arcade that claims to have over 120 vintage and newer games. This is an old-time amusement arcade.

Two vintage video games of interest to us were Space invaders from the late 1970’s and Donkey Kong from the early 1980’s as well as the manual games of pinball and Skee-Ball. They were very nostalgic for us.

We enjoyed well over an hour here.

We noticed some younger children experiencing Skee-Ball for the first time. They seemed to be having a great time at it.

We rate the Half Moon Penny Arcade at 4.25 and can recommend a visit.

We went on the Halloween Masquerade dinner cruise. The entertainment was good (rock band on one level, country music on the other). Food was good however they ran out of some items before everyone had a chance to eat.
The tables were cramped - not very easy for people who had big costumes or bodies.
The costume contest could have been better organized. There was only 1 or 2 prizes awarded where the winners were decided by the crew. It would have been better had there been prizes for categories such as most original, most creative, and scariest (or something like that). Maybe let the crowd choose their favorite as well. Other than that it was good fun night and we would do it again next year.

On a post-Labor Day vacation in the Lakes Region, I spent a most of my time in the Weirs Beach/Laconia area. One afternoon, I visited some shops near the beach.

The cluster of shops, fast food spots, and amusement arcades strung together on Lakeside Avenue are all part of the Half Moon complex. This is one of the few places without Half Moon in its name.

This shop carries accessories primarily ~ casual jewelry and sunglasses.

Then, there was the wall display of casual jewelry. There was even a collection of sun sign cord necklaces. I found the designs on them to be much different from other jewelry of that type. And, I found the prices reasonable.

I looked at somewhere close to 25 pairs of sunglasses.

I also saw some metaphysical merchandise. There was a display of tarot cards and a bin with animal spirit guides.

Additionally, in browsing, I came across some wind chimes and an assortment of candles. Those items made the shop more interesting.

I rate at 4.50 and can recommend stopping by.

Vacationing in the Lakes Region, I spent a lot of time in the Weirs Beach/Laconia area. One afternoon, I visited some shops.

The cluster of shops, fast food spots, and amusement arcades strung together on Lakeside Avenue are all part of the Half Moon complex. Many have Half Moon in their names.

As the name of the store implied with Half Moon Beach Shop, it was stocked with just about everything for the beach – from bathing suits for the whole family, beach towels, sun hats, beach wear and cover-ups to beach totes and beach footwear ~ flip-flops and sandals. I saw a lot of swimwear with Life Guard printed on it.

There was nothing for the beach I needed or wanted, so I didn’t spend much time in there; however, I did enjoy browsing in all the sections and thought favorably of what I saw.

For the quality and selection available, I rate Half Moon Beach Shop at 4.50 and can recommend a visit.

The M/S Mount Washington is one of our favorite places to be. We usually go in the summer to celebrate our anniversary, but this time, we went in October to see some fall foliage. We were with friends from the retirement community where we live. Everyone seemed to have a nice time on the boat, beautiful scenery along with a narrated tour. The only disappointment was the lack of bright foliage. We were either too early in the season or it had gone by. Nevertheless, the cruise was lots of fun. It's such a comfortable boat with a wonderful onboard staff. We highly recommend it.
