A favorite place to visit, I go there weekly! Good prices and friendly service. Don't forget to go upstairs too, over 40 vendors.

My daughter got married at the Ballyowen on September 24, 2022. The coordinator handled the set up and she did an amazing job. The maitre d" Michael Mikulich went beyond and more. He was amazing and was literally everywhere to make sure everyone was happy. The cocktail hour was beautiful and so was dinner. The food exceptional and there were many compliments. The staff was very attentive. Everything went smoothly. Highly recommend the Ballyowen for an elegant wedding.

Overall opinion- Meh resort . First of all these are two completely separate hotels and not a “resort” where things are easily accessible between two hotels. There is zero transportation offered. So you are on your own getting between the two hotels.

We recently stayed for our ten year anniversary trip. I called and asked the resort to tell me everything and it was sold as one complete resort which absolute isn’t true. We stayed at minerals and if we wanted to hike we needed to go to grand cascades. Vice Versa there’s only pickleball and games etc at minerals. Again no shuttle between resorts. When we checked in they told us the shuttle was removed during Covid. We came for the food and wine festival and they told us there was no transportation available between minerals and grand cascades. So we had to figure it out on our own. The next morning we checked again and were told “oh we actually did run the shuttle”.
The only acknowledgment of our anniversary was verbal at check in. NOTHING ELSE. I’m sorry but at any other high end hotel we would’ve at least received a card if not something special.
The rooms at minerals are TINY! we had a suite and was very small. Also the walls are paper thin. After a loud first night we were able to switch to grand cascades. The manager was helpful In switching our rooms which was very helpful and kind. Grand cascades was much nicer - but again kinda meh for $500 plus night hotel. Suite was a mini apartment which was lovely.
The gym was small but had two peloton bikes which was nice.
Spa was ok. No extra toiletries or ammenities there. Was nice to have a foot soak with champagne offered at the end.

Pools overall were great. Best part of trip. Minerals hot spring pool bigger than grand cascades. Hot tub at grand cascades was colder than the pool.

Restaurants good but you pricey. Coffee on property excellent. $40 breakfast credit but two people it’s more like $65.

    Golf was great!

Overall it was nice to getaway but the resort needs some upkeep and a little more pizazz to the guests. Wouldn’t come back so fast.

Did the hot stones massage. Not really different from anywhere else I've had a massage but double the price. She did a really nice job though and the place was nice.

Usually I stand at the top of the Park and watch as tiny children wiz past me, or the crazy dude with his earphones in that doesn't care about the line up cut in front of me. I usually don't have the confidence to drop into a full park. I got frustrated and finally decided, "sit by the sidelines no longer!" I signed up for the park camp at Cypress Mountain BC.

It was strange at first because I was there by myself, it was like school all over again I didn't know anyone, but that feeling quickly went away. The co-ordinators and instructors were extremely welcoming. They took the time to learn and memorize everyones name, and made sure to answer every question and in detail. I never felt like they got frustrated with the amount of questions I had bundled up in me. They also treated everyone as equals no matter how much better they were than us I never actually felt like they were "Teachers" but more like a rad group of women who wanted to share their knowledge. We had our own little piece of the hill where kids and dudes with headphones were not allowed to wiz through which made learning at your own pace even better.

The coolest part about this camp was how you feed off of each others confidence. Almost everyone was super shy about trying things that looked difficult, but it only took one brave soul to try it to give the rest of us the confidence we needed to try it as well. Everyone was so supportive especially when you ate sh$t , No one pointed and laughed instead we helped each other get back on our feet and cheered when we did. I also never felt pressured to try stuff out of my comfort zone. I was encouraged but they always let us know in the end that it was up to us, and without judgement.

What I walked away with was more tricks in my pocket than I could have ever imagined doing, the support of some fierce gals that I can go riding with in the Vancouver area and the knowledge and confidence to get in the park and throw whatever I want in there without feeling out of place or self conscious.

The camp is really about realizing what you can accomplish instead of what you cant do. I love that feeling. Looking forward to the next one!
