- Ruud VAmsterdam, The Netherlands10 contributionsThere is not much there but if you read up on them before you go you can at least imagine how this market town used to connect the ocean to the old Zimbabwe. Not a must though so only go if either 1) you need a break from the beach, or 2) you are driving between Vilanculos and InhambaneWritten 7 October 2012This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Harriet N26 contributionsWe loved this excursion - a really authentic Mozambique experience and we got to see endangered seahorses.
Our guide picked us up and drove us through the villages to the bay. Then it was a very short dhow trip (10mins) across shallow water to the sea grass beds. Our guide gave us masks and snorkels and helped us find the seahorses. The water was only knee deep - so you didn't have to do lots of swimming. It was so magical seeing the sea horses. Despite having dived all round the world, this was only my second time ever seeing them in the wild. We also saw two octopus.
After about an hour in the water we returned to the shore, where a delicious local lunch of matapa and rice had been prepared for us.
Our guide explained how the money from the tourists is being used to support the villagers, so there is no more illegal poaching of the sea horses.
A win: win conservation and community project.Written 26 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Different types of massages and treatments. I enjoy a neck and back massage this type, but had very good experience receiving a full body massage in another visit to this SPA. High recommended!Written 23 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Aba E2 contributionsInteresting well made Mozambican crafts. Worth a look. Their prices are on the high side compared to Maputo. Collection is well created and good quality.Written 30 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- mayarazuculaEstoril, Portugal1 contributionBahia Mar has wonderfully created a different “flavor of yoga” for each day of the week. Ranging from the fun and energizing Aerial Yoga, to the upbeat and reinvigorating Hatha and Vinyassa classes, topped off with the best way to relax into the weekend… a lovely YinYang class on Saturdays.
All of the instructors bring so much light, personality, and warmth to the practice. They welcome all the different yogis - from novice to expert! I highly recommend trying any one of these “flavors of yoga” to brighten your day.Written 19 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She was super nice, calm, clear and encouraging, both in the confined dives and the first 2 open water dives (the last 2 were done with a different dive centre due to a lack of time on my part).
The entire dive centre was nice and organized. They were very helpful in helping me plan splitting my certification between the 2 different dive centres.
The dives themselves were very cool, with lots to see and the Benguela and Bazaruto islands, were we stopped for a bit, were also great.
Overall, great dive centre, great people and beautiful place and dives.Written 14 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From the first contact at the booking stage to our departure, we were blown away by the holiday. Stunning location, superbly schooled horses, sensational food, great people and happy holiday memories that I still dream of.
An absolute must for riders looking to elevate their horses riding experience.Written 8 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The boat is super quick and comfortable, everything you need on board. The team were so professional, helpful and great fun.
Lunch consisted of rice, sauce, fish, chicken, salad & bread. Fruit fro dessert. All very good. You could help yourself to drinks along the way.
The stops are well timed and you can always find one of the guys around if you need anything

- Pumpkin_ciccioParis, France72 contributionsWe had an absolutely fabulous time on our 5-day dhow trip around the Bazaruto archipelago. The islands are stunning and the crew went out of their way to make sure my kids (8, 10 and 12) enjoyed the trip. The food was also amazing, especially considering it was all cooked while we sailed. The accommodation was wonderful, both Kerry's place on the coast - where Kerry was a fantastic host (and great cook!) - and Zanguelemo lodge on Bazaruto.Written 15 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jude Ussy4 contributionsLast week I took some students (12 - 13 year old children) to Jay's place and as always, it was as incredible experience.
Jay's Canoe trip starts from his magical piece of paradise, situated right on the Govuru river, there's nowhere else quite like it in Mozambique.
If you're staying in or near Vilankulo, you must go on a Canoe trip with Jay, there is nothing he doesn't know about the local flora and fauna, he is an expert guide, and a really nice guy!
Thanks Jay, we'll be back soon for more river adventures :-)Written 21 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
