- ThisisBoxElmira, NY168 contributionsI read a lot about the place on the website before coming. You are able to spread out, but all the best holes will have quite a few people fishing in them. It is not as bad as fishing in town. The staff are all real nice and you can see them coming down stream in their bright green hats. I will say I enjoyed fishing there even though it was quite expensive.Written 27 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JLF1979Syracuse, NY3 contributionsWe went out on July 6th, in mostly hazy and overcast but cool conditions. A group of us treated our buddy for his 40th b'day. From the moment we stepped on the boat and met Captain Rich and his first mate Frenchy, we knew we were in for a fantastic afternoon. And man oh man, we were not disappointed. There was some debate about where to go and what we should try hitting (Kings or Browns). When we told them we really just wanted the best chance to catch some fish, Capt. Rich and Frenchy looked at each other, and said "Let's hit the boulevard." No clue what that meant at the time, but we were on our way.
Frenchy was an absolute savage with the rods (6-7 of them at once!) - ensuring proper depth for the lures as Capt. Rich was nice and steady with the vessel. It truly was a well oiled machine between the two of them. All the while, Frenchy was regaling us with stories of charters past. After more than a few beverages, it seemed as though the fish just wanted to jump into the boat. We couldn't grab the rods fast enough as two or three would hit at a time. Frenchy was not flustered and was able to set every one of them for us. It was nuts. Frenchy and Capt. Rich were generous enough to take a ton of pictures for us too.
So we hit our limit and started to make our way back to the marina. My buddies and I took a look at our haul, clanked our beers together in celebration and grabbed a seat on the side of the boat for the ride back.
When we got back to the marina, the show was not over. Frenchy unsheathed his knife and filleted the trout with surgical precision. It really was quite a sight. As we disembarked and made our walk back to the car, I remembered to ask why they call it "the boulevard." Frenchy gave a smile and said "well, it's actually called the brown trout boulevard." Ahhh, it all made sense now.
Thanks for the memories fellas - we couldn't have asked for a better time. We'll absolutely be coming back!Written 23 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pauline E10 contributionsWent out for a 6hr trip today. Captain Justin helped us feel very comfortable and confident about what we were catching and how to bring them in. Very knowledgeable charter captain! Learned a ton on this trip about Lake Ontario, the species of fish and environmental impacts the charter business contends with. Justin was non-stop setting up reels and getting us to good locations. Beautiful weather today and landed King, Atlantic and coho salmon! Would have liked to have had more action but that is totally hit and miss with fishing! Justin did an amazing job trying to keep us over the fish. Highly recommend, Will absolutely book again. 🤗Written 18 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Carol HBelleville, Ontario11 contributionsThis was our first visit to the fish hatchery just out side of Pulaski. n.y. What an amazing place. No admission fee. When we entered the foyer we saw interesting displays and exhibits. Clean washrooms. We watched the salmon close up as they climbed the ladder to spawn It was a self-guided tour so we could take our time and enjoy looking at the big fish. It is also wheelchair accessible. Looking forward to another visit soonWritten 21 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
