Lucky for me that I live about 2 miles from this holy site. A few times a week I visit the shrine to pray for my family. My children attended the nursery school here called Children of Mary. A Very peaceful and spiritual place. My sanctuary!

This was a pleasant surprise that didn't require a fee or a reservation.. We were actually looking for the battlefield and knew the lighthouse was nearby. There was a small revolutionary army camp and a museum with people in period costume. The woman in the museum gave a very informative explanation of the battle. From the parking lot, it is a rather steep climb to the site. The lighthouse is a little further up the hill. The view along the river would have been lovely had the sun been out! This was a nice side trip since we had some extra time after our timed tour. It didn't take long and was well worth it

I have hiked Doodletown several times over the years. It is close to Bear Mountain and is an interesting diversion. Before hiking it would be a good idea to read about Doodletown and what happened to the village. While none of the homes remain, many foundations of the houses are still there. In addition to two cemeteries and a reservoir several old roads and bridges are still intact. It is not an overly difficult hike except coming up from 9W is uphill.

I was there for the first time with my family on Saturday 07/10/21 my idea was to have a nice get away from NYC. OMG that place was fully packed and very loud music every 6 feet! The water was ok but the smell of charcoal was unbearable. Maybe it's best to visit this place during weekdays, the management needs to more to control the loud music and maybe limit barbecuing so close to the water to some degree.

First time I ever head of this place. Nice venue for a wedding or any type of party/event. The catering staff was friendly throughout the evening. The cocktail hour of food choices were filling and the wedding menu for dinner were quite good. All in all a great place to have an event.
