- Sumeeth SYorktown Heights, NY52 contributionsThis is a quick family and kid friendly hike in Yorktown NY right on NY-118.
Difficulty level is medium and you will need trail shoes and good hydration. Also, a good place for GeoCacheing.Written 16 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Visiting the alpaca farm was nearby (about an hour from NYC), reasonably priced and very educational. This is a great family activity. In addition to the alpacas there were horses and donkeys. The tour guides (and owners) were friendly, informative and welcoming. We will definitely be back! - Vincent GSomers, New York, United States8 contributionsTry to get out walking or biking several times a week, very blessed to have in our area. Was just re blacktopped. No more pot holes!Written 25 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Josh D.Syracuse, NY157 contributionsThis state park has so many things to do. There is a huge and very well maintained pool, trails for running or biking, a boat launch and a pond. They don't allow outside food or drinks in the pool area (water is ok) but there is a food stand with drinks, beer, fried food, and ice cream. I enjoyed how diverse this pool was with lots of folks from all walks of life coming together with grandparents and little kids to enjoy a state parkWritten 10 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Myrna BeckFair Lawn, NJ10 contributionsThere were still lots of apples on the trees, not usually the case in November. However, there were lots of thorny growths near the trees that made picking a bit difficult.Written 12 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brenda DSomers, NY25 contributionsI've visited often: to pick up CSA produce, to purchase plants and produce from the stand, to use the space as part if a knitting group, and for educational program in the classroom. It's a working farm that has areas open to the public and hosts educational and cultural events. It's not a petting zoo r a community garden, so which spaces are open and which activities are available vary. - gordonmJ359PTYorktown Heights, NY2 contributionsMy kids attended summer camp there. The ended the camp with a stage production. - rwar407Yorktown Heights, NY158 contributionsA wonderfully rich and exciting part in our local and national history. There's even a few artifacts on display inside. The church hall itself is like stepping back along the pages of our history. The parishioners are friendly and welcoming. The church is also a host to a variety of activities, such as food pantries, and other organizations such as a Boy Scout troop for example that also plays a role in helping our community at large. A great place.Written 2 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CMKNYWestchester County, NY394 contributionsNice little farm in the area and a great place to get your Christmas tree and local honey. - NMG334Yorktown Heights, NY354 contributionsThis is a nice little park although not generally a destination spot but a good place to stop along the North County Trailway or while in town. There are a few benches, playground, basketball court, grassy area, and across the street is the Trailside Cafe if you're looking for a snack stop during your walk. New to the park is a monument paying tribute to the Battle of Pines Bridge, and the diverse 1st Rhode Island Regiment under Col. Christopher Greene, who died defending the Croton River crossing from British loyalists in 1781. The 8-foot-tall monument depicts Greene fighting alongside African-American and Native American soldiers. Yorktown hosts several community gatherings during the year that incorporate the Railroad Park like the San Gennero Festival. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Written 12 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura CUnited States13 contributionsThecJV mall is a waste of time. Although they tried to add more stores to give the appearance that they’ve expanded and renewed the mall p, the stores are still bad. The food court has only two choices and the pizza place downstairs is horrible. The food at the pseudo upscale restaurant they have there is terrible and overpriced. Although I live in the area, I skip this mall and go to the Danbury mall in CT.Written 6 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dalesaltzman1Yorktown Heights, NY20 contributions50 years ago we swam and my children enjoyed this little lake in our community.
40 years ago this lake was still in good shape and friends pulled out of it the largest snapping turtle I ever saw. 30 years ago the development around the lake really began to impact the quality of the swimming. 20 years ago areators were put in and the swimming area was getting filled with plants. Currently people still fish and still swim but there are days when only the beach is usable. We have let our streams and lakes deteriorate and need to bring them back.Written 30 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bathrooms, easy parking, and lit at night. Sometimes wasps are a problem if you have food. Nice hiking trails nearby.Written 17 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
