My Goodness!!!! Where do I start??????
My Husband and I went up into the Mountains heading towards Brevard, NC. We stopped at a Gem Mine along the way and their pumps were broken. We got to Brevard and started walking around the town. The town was having the White Squirrel Festival. We looked at a map we picked up and the Crystal Mountain Gem Mine was a street over from where we were. I have always wanted to do this and we got a big bucket and started finding all kinds of Gems and Fossils. We had alot of fun doing it. As we were going through our sand/Gem bucket, Liz would check up on us, telling us what were finding. When we finished, Chris helped us by cracking open our Geode Rock. It was beautiful inside!!!! Chris informed me that I had something else very special which I though it was an end of a bolt!!! It was a prehistoric shrimp that came before the Dinosaurs! I couldn't believe it. I picked two treasures out and beautiful Madeline Newman preceded to make two beautiful necklaces which I have already worn. I can not stress enough the most wonderful experience, a must for family fun and education. Beautiful rocks of all sorts are in their store. Just beautiful items for sale. I have crossed the first thing off my bucket list. The next is Ziplining!!! June also was the sweetest.... she held our items and took care of anything we needed to make sure our special day ended as nice as it started. Thank you EVERYONE!!!! We will highly recommend your business to others. What a wonderful time we had!!!!

I observed these falls twice from the same location, the viewing platform off of highway 276. I could not get to the falls from this highway unless I was a private owner or staying somewhere that you must enter thru the Entrance Gate. There's probably a way via hiking but I didn't want to hike nor have time to research further. It was BEAUTIFUL from this easy access/wheelchair accessible sturdy platform. And the bonus is seeing where it starts as the water rushes around the back half & side of the platform before falling down to join the other part of the falls in the distance. The first time I went it was morning and still foggy, so I went back when it was sunny (& fortunately just AFTER it had rained) so my photos turned out better. Great to simply sit (could bring a lawnchair) &/or stand & listen to nature.

We selected Slick Rock Falls from a brochure that included waterfalls in Transylvania County. Slick Rock Falls are very nice and you can "carefully" stand behind the Falls. There is a short trail to the Falls as on our visit it was barely visible from the road. I carefully got behind the Falls a bit for a pic and enjoyed the spray of the cool water.
    Note:
Since we took FS475B to Log Hollow Falls we thought we would continue on it to Slick Rock Falls which is also off FS475B. We do NOT recommend that unless you are going on long hikes in the area. FS475B is a one lane narrow gravel road that twists and turns through Pisgah Forest. It is a TEDIOUS drive. If we were stopping other places along the road it would be different but not just to get to Slick Rock Falls. Easiest way to Slick Rock Falls is off US276 take FS475 about 1.5 miles then turn right onto FS475B over a mile to the Falls.

We’ve been to three concerts there in the last year and we’ve been impressed by all three. The quality of what is essentially a student/faculty/stringer orchestra is really extraordinary and a testimony to resident Artistic Director, Keith Lockhart and the various guest conductors.

The covered open air facility is beautiful and the mostly volunteer staff of ushers and parking attendants is helpful and friendly. Western North Carolina is so fortunate to have it.

Super cool, single screen retro movie theatre that makes you feel like you're back in the 20s and 30s--except with comfortable seats! We love the Coed for kids' birthday parties (where you can rent the entire space, show a movie of your choice, and get snack packs), new releases, and more. We love going as couples or as a family.

Our guide Yuri was fantastic. We did a half-day tour that was a perfect match for what we wanted: a deeper dive into the classic Pisgah mountain biking experience. Yuri was a great help when one of our crew had a mechanical, and a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area as well. Highly recommended.

Our entire family had a blast, even thought the weather was less than ideal. On our trip to Brevard, it was our kids (ages 12 &14) favorite activity. From camouflage and archery to visiting the filming sites, our guide Tammy was wonderful and enthusiastic. I highly recommend doing this tour!
