What travellers are saying
- billreedredSautee Nacoochee, GA566 contributionsVery nicely done, with lots of animal exhibits Looks like something you would see In Washington DC I was pleasantly surprised how good it wasWritten 13 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - npotter2017Charlotte, NC145 contributionsAs mentioned by some of the other reviewers, this park is located very near to at least one, perhaps two, firing ranges. The sound of gunfire is loud and distracting and is the only reason I didn't give this park 5 stars. On the far side of the park the gunfire is so loud that you want to duck and run. Besides the strange gunfire, the park is gorgeous with lots to offer including boat rentals, fishing, large shelters and wonderful trails. Although you will want to just sit and stare at the water all day, don't - instead look for wildflowers and native plants and butterflies lining the water's edge including Joe Pye Weed, Muscadine grapes, Golden Rod, and various asters. Take the trail off to the left of the bathrooms to enter a bamboo forest and access other trails. The park is located directly behind Wendy's - follow the road right next to Wendy's until you see the park parking lot.Written 14 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AEN524Charlotte, NC102 contributionsWe walk our dog and meet only one other couple at a time. We follow the trails and typically spend an hour getting in some walking and enjoying the park and its layout. We have been there 4 times in March and twice so far in April.Written 15 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tony MGastonia, NC20 contributionsI've been here for numerous music events during the summer concert series. No charge, bring a lawn chair or just walk around and see friends. There are restaurants and coffee shops close by.Written 5 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SnakeChow2 contributionsThe quality of the food had nothing to do with the corpse in the room. All of the clientele were nice and seemed pleased that we all felt comfortable eating vigorously in a room with a corpse.Written 5 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MullMeisArlington, VA43 contributionsIn the past, after considerable searching through the overstuffed vendor sections and maneuvering through the crowded slim aisles, some good gems! It was a search, though. Prices varied but while they had a lot of junk, there were collectibles and, on occasion, an antique or two.
Sorry to see them go. It was a fun way to spend a few hours on a hot, rainy or cold day.Written 14 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you like to dig and don't mind a little clutter, then this is the place for you to search for that special antique. NOT a gift shop. Friendly staff, very helpful.Written 31 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Seasoned TravelerClover, SC506 contributionsThis is a small park, nestled inside a walking trail and surrounded by what we call down South, Mill Houses. Kinda like a Central Park of the South. It's about 2 acres of land with a asphalt walking trail on the perimeter. One covered picnic table, benches and lots of play structures for the little ones. Dogs are allowed (cleanup supplies supplied), but parking seems limited. A quiet and cozy park just hidden along Hwy 7 in Gastonia.Written 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
