I am very fortunate to live fairly close to Hildebran, NC which is about 1 mile South of the Henry River Mill Village.

I've visited several times over the years and went again today. What a fabulous way to preserve the history of the Village and also to highlight the wonderful "Hunger Games" movie series.

All proceeds of entry fees ($18.00 for adults) go directly to the Non-Profit Group who now manages the site. It is also a fun photo opportunity if you enjoy shooting the old structures and surrounding area. If you are traveling in the (Hickory, NC) area or are fortunate enough to live close by please do check out this historic village. Today, Donovan was on duty and running the Gift Shop. A delightful young man who is very well versed in the history of Henry River Mill Village.

A wonderful and true community center. The foundation puts together great events and shows for the community. Very clean and very safe for the entire family. Kid friendly. Elderly friendly. An overall outstanding place.

Few things better than baseball on a summer evening. LP Frans Stadium is a fine minor league park; there's not a bad seat there. Extra netting to protect fans is a great addition. Many nights there are long lines at the concessions, especially when only one (typically on the 3rd base side) is open.

This museum had very kind and generous volunteers that gave us a wonderful tour of one of the larger aircraft’s interior. It is a wonderful quick stop if you are ever in hickory! Things that are included are an indoor model exhibit, a large amount of retired fighter jets, and some larger military planes. This attraction is free so donations are encouraged!

I would consider this to be a moderate hike with the elevation gain. The views at the top are pretty but you due to where you are, you are going to see various buildings and water towers in the distance. It can be very humid so prepare for that and bring lots of water. The trails are well marked and they have informational signs to tell you the history as you go along.

This museum is housed in a beautiful old high school. The space is open and inviting with a curved staircase that leads you upstairs to an amazing Folk Art Collection. Many of the artists are from North Carolina and share several similar themes that displayed together as you walk through the gallery. The downstairs exhibitions rotate so you can easily see something new and different each time you visit. This museum is definitely worth the drive to Hickory. Oh, and the museum shop is full of fun treasures!

Stopped here for a picnic during a day trip to Hickory. First this park is in a nice residential neighborhood situated next to woods and a lake. An terrific place to take a break and relax, The picnic tables are wooden and graffiti free. A table cloth would be a good idea due to the debris and pollen on them. The shade from the trees was great from the heat. The park is clean and tidy but the parking lot is small and limited. A paved walking track and biking track is also accessible from the park.

Amazing variety of local, small business and farmers. A great place to slowly walk through and experience a non-traditional way to shop. The experience is nostalgic, and has beautiful sights, sounds and aromas

The walk along the river on the boardwalk was very shaded and relaxing. We even saw a deer wade into the water for a drink. The small shelter where we had our lunch was clean and well maintained. Parking near the boardwalk is very limited...we drove to that small lot and unloaded our picnic supplies and then moved the car back to the parking lot at the park entrance.

We drove down from Fairview to check this place out and it was a lot better than we expected, although we only bought one item. It's well laid out with dozens of booths and stalls and a wide variety of antiques and collectibles. The lady who runs the place is very nice, knowledgeable about the things that are for sale and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We'll definitely go back!

We stopped in here for a moment to play some in the Playground, and it is very nice with much to do in keeping the children busy to have fun playing. They different types of swings and things to spin around on and a unique slide that is long and curves in the open not in a tube but down a slope without water on it. We didn't go to the side that has the splash zone water park for children, but we saw it and it also looked like fun for the children. We would go there again if in the area, and it is free, no charge.

Look, malls are a dying business. This mall does a great job keeping some trendy retailers in place and keeping the property fairly clean and safe. A big food court but lacks variety. Overall, better than other malls
