Excellent museum depicting the Icelandic heritage in the Gimli area. The introductory film was a good way to start the visit. Very nice gift shop.

We were very impressed with our visit to the Gimli Glider Exhibit! There are many parts of the actual plane and other relevant artefacts on display. The passionate volunteers were great to talk to. The flight simulator is a really neat touch. This museum is an excellent tribute to a fascinating and compelling Canadian story. Due to the size of the place I thought we would be in and out in under twenty minutes, but we ended up spending an hour there.

I was not expecting such a big market! It just kept going. There was a great mix of wares for sale and quite a bit of space between the sellers. I purchased a photo from a photographer I had followed for years. What a treat! The temperature was too hot to fully enjoy the morning so we hope to return!

This is a quick stop to see a giant Viking statue in a park setting. You can park in the circle right next to the statue and there is a little pathway you can walk over to the water. The Icelandic museum is right down the street.

This is worth the drive especially if you are water people. Lake Winnipeg is huge!
I saw a rental for seadoos on the beach. Not too many people were swimming but it was a Monday so it wasn't busy.
The town is very maritime looking, very charming. Seemed like there was a shopping street. We could have walked the beach for hours I'm sure but were pressed for time.
Had lunch at a beachside cafe. Very tasty and service was good.

Took a private flight over the Gilmore motor sport complex which is a part of the decommissioned RCAF base . Very nice facility.

My friend Marie and I stopped at Gimli to take a stroll on the Gimli pier and view the wonderful seascapes painted on the harbour walls. Amazing, got to watch a volunteer repairing one that had faded and peeled away due to wear and tear of winds and rain. We had a little following of seagulls who thought we might have some food to share, they became quite disinterested in us once they realized "no such luck". We then proceeded to the Gimli Art Club to view some wonderfully made pottery, glass coasters and paintings. Was nice to see some names of artists I recognized. Quite an array of beautifully arranged landscapes, seascapes etc. If you have never been you simply must come out and view the beautiful display from local artists. Really, you must...….

So definitely had the greatest experience of my life this weekend jumping from 10 500 feet, for the first time ever, for my brother's 40th Birthday! I wasn't sure about the whole thing initially, but Frankie and Brian made the whole experience more than memorable. Brian's "tour" of the beautiful surrounding area on the climb up was quite hilarious and Frankie was over-the-top amazing-he made me feel so comfortable in an obviously intimidating situation and continued to remind me to just enjoy myself and smile... I actually can't wait to jump again soon!!!! I highly recommend the facility as well as these 2 fantastic gentlemen!
