- advisorjwashington, dc443 contributionsReally nice park with some captive and some free animals and lots of flowers and trees. Bring water if its hot as there are no services along the boardwalk trail.Written 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Craig3 contributionsWhile not too far from the city, for those who are camping from outside of St. John's, it's likely a great place to setup shop, close enough to the city to make it with the drive to do some city stuff... and then back to the country. For those from St. John's... looking to escape and find things to do, it's not over the top. It's a good campground but not too much else to do nearby like some of the other parks I've frequented.
Nice little beach... good bathrooms and showers (though my wife wasn't a fan of the women's side)... camp sites were clean and spacious. We had a couple of incidents with some other loud campers late at night in which we would have appreciated the camp ground supervisors to take care of but they usually just ignored it and drove by.Written 22 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The volunteer staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area's history. The art work of Gerald Squires, Todd Chafe and other local artists is so impressive. The gift shop has a lovely selection of works by many talented local artists and craftspeople. Allow a couple of hours to do it justice.Written 31 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AK8397Ontario, Canada1,047 contributionsWe found this place by accident, looking for somewhere to turn our car around. So we got out to stretch our legs and came upon Father Duffy's Well. What a curious story! Read the sign boards to learn all about this interesting person and his accomplishments. Then take a stroll down the path. But don't forget, before you leave, to dip your hands into the healing water. I did, and I've felt great ever since. Thanks Father Duffy!Written 15 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Paul DSt. John's, Canada818 contributionsThe course starts with a tough par 3 which you don't often see. The rest nod the course has tight greens and sand traps that swallow golf balls. It's a tough test and a very hilly walk. Always seems busy and while it's set in a valley, the weather is usually very good. Worth a try. No restaurant or beverage cart, so bring something along with you.Written 21 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul F4 contributionsHad an amazing time out with Captaib Jan and Hilary. They are incredibly knowledgeable and the scenery in the bay is amazing. Was really excited to see my first whale (minke whale)! Saw an eagles nest, cormorants roosting and caught plenty of fresh cod!
This is a must do trip to experience a little bit of Newfoundland culture. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the St. John's area.Written 12 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
