- longblackshinycarCambridge, UK17 contributionsWhat really sets this place apart is the staff. We had a wonderfully warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for staff who evidently really care about the place, they are very knowledgeable and only too happy to answer any questions that you might have. The museum itself is an interesting mix of social and industrial history and the function rooms and gardens are lovely. The cafe served up a nice cuppa and a lovely sandwich, so if you are in Workington would reccomend a visit. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

- Jennifer Dickie1 contributionGreat money well spent!! Smaller play area but ample for 4 year old to have an absolute ball!! Best of all the food is amazing!! Would happily come here for lunch without kids if allowed to! 🤣

The venue was the perfect setting with plenty of chairs and tables to seat family and friends of 50. Im sure it could easily host double that number!
The buffet was gorgeous plenty of variety and plenty of it! It was a very high quality buffet at an exceptionally reasonable price.
The bar was covered by two lovely young ladies who were super efficient and could not have been lovelier with all of the guests.
Equally the new general manager and Neil were on hand and kept checking in to see if there was anything we needed!
This is a brilliant venue to hire whatever the occasion- it was perfect .Written 14 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We managed to bring the monster to life, though we needed a couple of clues along the way. Would recomend having 3 or 4 players as with only 2 it can be a bit hectic. Holly was a great Games Master though, we really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommendWritten 30 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris WBlaxton, UK254 contributionsThis is not always open so check ahead or contact the brewery to confirm. I visited the shop and bought some bottles. The Clocker Stout in particular is excellent.Written 1 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- macedonboyGlasgow, UK165,885 contributionsNot exactly a shopping centre. It’s more of a town centre with lots of shops. Actually, by the standards of small towns in Cumbria, there’s lots of shops here and plenty of cafes too. Unlike the depressing sight of mostly closed shops in many towns, the vast majority of shops in Washington Square are occupied. Lovely place to wander and relax as a contrast to the beautiful Cumbrian countryside.Written 31 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Helen F5 contributionsThis restaurant is a hidden gem. Having visited numerous restaurants to find the elusive better than home-cooked Sunday Lunch ... this place ticks all the boxes. - Alison H46 contributionsGo to Opera bingo every two to three months. Fun couple of hours and good selection of affordable food and drinks. We find it quite an expensive outing once you buy all the extra games but enjoy it none the lessWritten 22 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ian PGlasgow, UK17 contributionsThe venue is like a step back into the eighties. The bowling lanes are ancient; ours continually froze, the bumpers looked like they were knackered and the lane didn't appear to be true as the ball didn't track straight if it was sent down the right hand side of the lane. They really need to spend some money to upgrade the place as the equipment seems to be on its last legs.
The interior was very dated looking and in dire need of modernisation. Despite this, it was clean and appeared to be well maintained. I especially liked the blacklights and lasers, it reminded me of bowling as a kid back in the 1980s.
Despite the criticism, we did have fun and it does appear to quite popular since all of the lanes were occupied when we left and lots of people were using the arcade machines and other activities in there. If they spent some money refurbishing the venue then it would be excellent as it has a lot of potential.Written 18 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
