- Lucy TIsle of Wight, UK220 contributionsOne of my most favourite walks on the island! You just can’t fault it. It’s a steep walk to the monument but the views are incredible! Being able to see the western tip of the island is an experience in itself and you can really see why the island is known as “the diamond isle”. It’s a route I’ve walked many times and I’m sure it won’t be the last!Written 23 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PoolsofBlueGlassSlough, UK13 contributionsA great, west facing beach, with a good walk along the sea wall to Totland Bay which has views of the Needles.
There is plenty of sand at low tide and safe swimming; also a shack that rents out paddle boards. Snorkel over the rocky bits to see small fish etc.
There aren't any slotties etc.
There is one good, if pricey restaurant and a more reasonable, family bar/restaurant - both with good views. Also a couple of beach shops and great ice cream.Written 5 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The house tour was well organised with helpful and knowledgeable stewardsWritten 7 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Four 22London, UK29 contributionsGreat little museum which is a mix of photography, history, biography, architecture, exhibition space, shop. You only need a couple of hours to get round but as a small independent museum, it is worth supporting.Written 3 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil BChippenham, UK321 contributionsJust over the road from The Piano Cafe, we popped in to see the church, having driven past it several times.
A quaint little building which was very well maintained but also a still and calming place.

Decent latte from machine (filter coffee on offer too) Fresh cheese scone (still warm). Did not have cake but lovely selection on offer. Did not have the hot special but it looked nice (and generous portion for £6). Hot food on offer three times a week. Good for smaller budgets. Lots of space. Wheelchair accessible.Written 18 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TJB @ Rodney StokeWells, UK567 contributionsHeaded here to cook a paella on our bucket BBQ while visiting the IOW with friends. Beach is clean and we had a fabulous afternoon in the sunshine and the paella was delicious!!Written 4 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil BChippenham, UK321 contributionsWe went to the churchyard to find my grandmother's grave.
Although the pathways were clear and mown, most graves were allowed to be the domain of nature!
We found the grave and payed our respects. Also the graves of my aunt and uncle.
It's a quiet and calm area, ideal for a peaceful interlude.Written 18 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The place is back to its hay day with friendly attentive service and excellent local food and drink, we are even planning to attend one of the cider tasting events ( sounds fun) which are held to taste numerous home produced and local ciders :) . We arrived early afternoon and there were several other family groups already enjoying the food and the children from these were running around the gardens. Our food was superb and thankfully of the standard that we used to enjoy previously and it looks like just having the owners doing it all, is paying dividends. Our friends really enjoyed the relaxed , mellow atmosphere, the food and the on site produced cider, We will be back.Written 24 October 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ann HYork, UK2,191 contributionsWe visited the Fort Victoria coastal defence building which has been converted to shops, cafes and other leisure facilities and is situated in the Fort Victoria Country Park. The building has a lot of history and it was nice to spend time enjoying the views and looking at what the units had to offer. Parking onsite was free which is an added bonus.Written 8 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- timothy J2 contributionsThe most scenic golf course in the isle of wight, massive challenge when the wind is blowing especially as front 9 is opposite direction to back 9. Only negative is poor quality expensive food.Written 4 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Cecily CEastleigh, UK48 contributionsWe found this little Gem (The Rabbit Hole) quite by accident driving into Freshwater on the last day of our visit to the island, (or we would have been back again!).
A lovely choice of roast and ground coffees, including the incredible "Blake", which actually does taste of cherries according to our 2 coffee aficionados! The loose teas were impressive too; I had the Earl Grey with "Calabrian bergamot" which was quite the smoothest Earl Grey- I drank it without milk or sweeteners! Tea is served in little glass pots which come with three refills included and the crockery was all delightfully random.
The home made cakes looked delicious and included raspberry bakewell , clementine, coffee and walnut and a chocolate cake that probably hardens the arteries on sight!
The shop is filled with delightful foodie books, bric-a-brac, macarons and tea pots to buy. The next door shops include an independent bookshop and craft shop, neither of which we had time to visit (lunch already booked) but both looked fascinating. The tea room also sells high class chocolates made locally and I can recommend them. We were able to buy some "Blake" coffee beans to take home and they travel well!Written 20 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
