What a lovely walk, we spotted it when looking for walking places on Cannock Chase.
Started at the Ramblers Retreat cafe and took the path through which has several different walks. Initially we followed a steep path that took us up and along onto another round. We walked back down then followed a main path that takes you along the river. Very peaceful and lots of birds to watch & listen out for.
Popular with families and dog walkers as the main path is flat & easy to follow.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk and would recommend

Went as part of our Merlin pass

Definitely one of the nicer parks as the grounds are very nice and open. Large lake and country house and all facilities are clean and featured in the period buildings.

Rides themselves are as one would expect but not a lot of choice so minimum queues are around an hour.

Main issue was poor signage for entrance from car park as even the closest point will be a 15 min walk. Train signs are not clear

The train also has near blacked out windows which seems a bizarre choice, why can’t we view the park on our way in or out?

We had a fantastic time in the waterpark itself, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful however there is not much provision for food allergies so I would recommend taking something with you for snacks or to add to black tea/coffee as these come from a machine that can't change milk options. The ques for the rides were actually not too bad I think longest was 10/15 minutes and that was for the master blaster. The changing rooms/ toilets aren't the cleanest and it's very very hot to just sit in the waterpark without swimming but the little one had a fab time and cannot wait to visit again later in the summer.

Unique wall paintings and an Anglo Saxon Font. The site of the Battle of Alton during the civil war. We received a great welcome. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Lovely term time day out with 4yo, cheap tickets and most rides were walk on.
Staff were lovely the only issue is overpriced food so I would reccomend taking packed lunches
