What travellers are saying
- Scarlett TMidway, PA216 contributionsLoved learning about all the history and what this monument represents. It’s an amazing structure, free to visit, and doesn’t take much time. Check it out.Written 17 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Go7519655 contributionsThe island has a cape cod feel in a small way it’s very pretty but we were there on the weekend too crowed. Go during the week.Written 9 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Departure574984364441 contributionWe went out to Put-in-Bay on a beautiful warm Sunday in April, rented a golf cart and went everywhere on the island. Then on Monday it rained and turned cold by Tuesday cutting our vacation short on Wednesday.Written 12 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Car LaMiami Beach, FL26 contributionsThis ferry even though they say they run on the hour seems to have a ferry coming every half an hour which is wonderful. At the end of the day I stopped at the restrooms and left my purse hanging in the handicap stall. I had been to the bank earlier that day and meant to leave the cash at home. I had over $1000 in my purse. All my ID, all my credit cards, and gift cards etc. I am happy to say that one of the Miller Ferry employees found it and put it in there safe for me. I was able to contact the police who were able to get my purse after hours so that I could come back and pick it up and not wait until the next day. There wasn’t one penny missing. I am so grateful for the honest employees with great integrity at Miller Ferry put-in-bay. I wanted to leave a reward but the Ferry was closed and all the people were gone. The police officer met me there. This is a great company with high integrity and morals.Written 27 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TR26Dayton, OH828 contributionsWe took in the butterfly house on a busy day on the island. I thought it was a worthy experience. The $10 admission may seem a little high for probably less than an hour in the very warm greenhouse that maintains these butterflies from around the world--but the time passes pleasantly as you appreciate the colorful varieties and perhaps try to capture them in photos.
The attached store is all things butterfly--the inventory is amzaing.Written 11 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It takes longer getting down then it took to explore the cave! The staff was great but In my opinion it’s just too short of an experience to make it on my list of “must dos”Written 21 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We also bought a Geode that they cracked open for us. Very cool and I like it more than I thought I would. I’d do it again.Written 17 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JBH364 contributionsWe arrived just about 10 minutes until closing. The website said it was open longer. Since we didn't have much time to look around, one of the ladies let us go in for free. They needed to catch the ferry to get back, so we were very fast in our looking. There seems to be a lot of information. If you aren't interested in history or the island, then it may not be a good stop for you. If you are, we recommend taking a look.Written 30 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- J. Kern2 contributionsAn interesting look into the local fishery and underwater life. Looking for something to do in good weather or bad this is a good place to spend 10-20 mins.Written 17 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cora DGrove City, OH222 contributionsBreakfast:
Nothing special. Our orders were all mixed up so that was disappointing. We opted to go back to the Topsy Turvey Cafe for walk-up sandwiches.
Otherwise it was cute. Nice to stop by but not necessarily a “must see.”Written 15 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Per someone else's review, we got some subs from subway in town and brought our lunch. There are several picnic tables on the site so it was nice to be on the edge of the cliff and watch the water and eat lunch. There are several signs around the grounds to read. But without lunch, you can cover it all in 10 minutes. But it is worth going out to if you have a golf cart.Written 16 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - slrv61Mansfield, OH224 contributionsThis is a weird museum. However, they are trying to reach out to families. The day we were there, they had a program outside about bats. There were activities, real bats to look at and interact with, lots of information and nice people. All of this was free and the programs vary. It was $10 for our family to go into the museum and we were glad we did. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we spent a lot of time learning about the animals. 12yo son was engaged and interested. This is off the beaten path but worth the time and money.Written 8 August 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - vhash77North Wilkesboro, NC948 contributionsNice park to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Good bathrooms as well. A few history information markers. Great place to wait for the return ferry.Written 10 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kay OToledo, OH44 contributionsNice little preserve. Many birds and butterflies. At least 3 spots where one can find a small private beach area and sit quietly by the water. It appears to be a work in progress, they are still mulching the trail.Written 9 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kris S13 contributionsA nice little walk along this easy circle trail leads to a lovely meadow for bird and butterfly watching, and comes along the shoreline too!
