great ride down the river from River Rat through Townsend. make sure you check their website and the Water level before you go. too low water and you end up walking some or getting stuck. too High or fast, and they close the river.
TIP -- Bring your own life jacket!! their stink something awful !! they said they spray and sanitize them, but whatever they are using it doesn't work.
great for all ages, and easy out and bus ride back to starting point included in the cheap price they charge. worth it on a hot day!

Great class on traditional medicine. Teacher was very informative. It was an excellent experience. The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center offers wonderful learning experiences, with expert teachers.

Great tshirts, books, magnets, souvenirs, and maps. There was a local artist inside too with this prints on display. Great little stop.

First of all it’s free. It’s also a time capsule of history there about the railroad and the logging industry. It’s well worth a stop if you have the time. Generally a half hour or so is enough before you move on to other activities such as Cades Cove, etc. There were a couple of families with children who seemed to love the old train there. That was nice to see.

we liked the unguided horse ride but we didn't see any horses out this time by so maybe they aren't doing it anymore ...that would be a shame it was really unique and fun

Fun little bridge. Bounces a little as you go over it. On the other side is a property with goats & peacocks, and my 3 year old loved looking at those! The riverview is beautiful. The only reason for not rating it 5 stars is because the bridge is a very short stop. You can spend 5-15min here, and it may be more fun in the Summer than in the off season.

A must for any day lily lover! The garden is so pretty and the barn is interesting as well. Even the short drive to get there is pretty! But the wonderful thing is you can walk a whole hillside/field of lilies and they will dig them up for you to purchase fresh from the field! They will even mail them home for you if you prefer!!

The Cades Cove Townsend Winery is a true production facility. Like other TN wineries, they feature sweet wines made from local grapes. As an exception, their Legacy red is made from Chambourcin grapes and aged in a brandy barrel - very good. They also offer a Pinot Grigio type white wine made from local Seyval grapes that is very good.
Hostess Jessica delivered information and services in a professional manner - well done!

Must do for all nature and bear enthusiasts. We follow ABR on FB and was so excited to go to the visitor center to purchase items at their visitors center and learn more about these creatures. Love what they do for the bears.

    Very Interesting “Art Gallery”

We had noticed Captain Dave’s Little River Artistry on several previous trips, but were always heading from one place, to another. In December, we had time on our hands, as we could not check into Blackberry Farm, over in Walland. We had taken a scenic drive on the newish section of the Foothills Parkway, and headed back toward Walland via Wears Valley, down to Hwy 321. We were still early, and Captain Dave’s beckoned to me, to finally stop.

Unfortunately, being a Sunday in December, they were not open, so we did miss quite a bit. However, we took time to explore what was visible - and that was great!

We had seen Captain Dave’s artwork, adorning many businesses in the Little River Area, and had admired the craftsmanship, often sprinkled with a bit of humor. The pieces on display, conveyed that same artistry and humor (some pieces are more humorous, while others are just straightforward depictions, most of the “critters” of the Smoky Mountains.

We’re back to the Smokies in February/March, and I plan to try and catch them open, to explore more of the pieces, which were not outside of the studio.

The trail is about 10 miles long. It crosses under the highway at least 3 different areas so you can easily get from one side to the other. One side is rather flat with a few hills. The other side has ups and downs and curves. It had very little traffic. The river is on one side of the trail so there are various things to look at as you are riding. This is a paved trail and well maintained.

Didn’t stay long, but the facility seemed very nice. I’ve been familiar with the company, and wanted an exclusive distillery only bottle. Didn’t catch the lady’s name that helped me, but let me sample it and the rye product. Very nice atmosphere. Worth the trip from PF/Gburg to see what Jeff and crew have established.

We have been to Cades cove many times and never knew there was a waterfall here. The trail was a little more difficult than we had intended, as moat of it is straight uphill, bit it's only 1/4 of a mile or so to the waterfall.

Great little jewel hidden away. I bought a columbine here. Love the garden walkway and the different array of wildflowers. The plant I bought had just been dug up and put in a pot that morning!! I just hope it will survive in NE Mississippi... I'm sure I'll be back.
