The arboretum is a great place to walk along the trails-kids and dogs welcome. We especially enjoyed the herb garden and the dogwood lane in bloom.

Completed in 1793, built on the site of an earlier chapel built in 1750, this Episcopal church is the oldest church in this part of the country. The simple Chapel was built of stone and has a basic A-shaped roofline. Next to the Chapel is an old cemetery. Virginia Governor Edmund Randolph is buried here, along with members of other local families(Nelsons and Burwells). Since 1973, the Chapel is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The historic marker states Lord Fairfax worshiped at this chapel.

Need a rhino or bear in your yard? This is the place. The inside store is mostly smalls, but well-curated.

Actual visit was three years ago, not what says here.

A unique antique store with a personable proprietor! This place was recently bought out from the previous owner. Many a driver on 340 will know this place as a garden statuary place and drive on by. Don’t! You will be taken away when you go inside. There is a variety of pieces, which makes walking through and discovering what are really museum pieces about the place. And you can get a great cup of coffee while browsing - how about that?! A must go for antique hunters and shoppers from the Shenandoah Valley.

While Millwood was traditionally an African-American community built around the Burwell-Morgan Mill, which remains the major touristic attraction in town, this small church was built by the white Baptist congregation in 1893. In 1921, the African-American Baptist congregation bought the church for $2,000, after the original builders moved to the new church in Boyce. For the convenience of the mostly elderly congregants, recent improvements included a new wooden ramp from the parking lot to the vestibule.
