What travellers are saying
- Frank PNew Hope, PA90 contributionsWhat a great experience! Ugh and I can’t remember the host who conducted our tasting! Sorry! It was top notch. Much more time and attention to the wines than we expected. A beautiful venue and the history of the owners was interesting. It’s an indoor/outdoor tour so hopefully weather is as good as ours!Written 2 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jess1 contributionWe loved our intimate wine tour at Montefioralle Winery! Locally and family owned, it’s worth the visit. Beautiful views and excellent wine.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- guidebooktravelercharlotte726 contributionsWonderful small winery that produces about 17,000 bottles a year. We made reservations beforehand and then waited for another group for about 15-20 min to start the tour and they never showed. Another couple happened to come after we had been on tour about 10 min so they were nice to include them but then we almost started the tour over which was nice for the new couple, but made a long tour for us.
The wine is delicious. The views from the terrace where the tastings are is gorgeous.
The snacks they served with the tastings of six wines was more of a fabulous meal! Meat, cheeses, olive oil, special bread and then bread with a fabulous sausage concoction on top!
The owner,Paola, came and chatted with us. He is very creative and ambitious with his plans for new grapes and new wines for the future. Good to see a small winery doing so well! We are so happy that we included this winery in our itinerary! We purchased some wine to take home to enjoy after our trip!Written 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom HAntwerp, Belgium2 contributionsVery big wine shop with good prices.
The cool thing about this enoteca is that you can try a big selection of wines by the glass, 1/2 glass or 1/3 glass.Written 17 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Sangiovese wines we tasted were all very good and the cheeses, meats and breads were an ideal accompaniment. Had dinner at a place on the town square after. A delightful day in the Chianti countryside.Written 3 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kathleen L29 contributionsDiego, the wine maker, gave us an amazing tour. The grounds are simply stunning! After our tour, we had lunch in a private room. The food was out out of this world and Diego matched the wines perfectly with the food. This was a fantastic lunch! After lunch, we were able to relax on the patio with a glass of wine. We stayed in Panzano for the month of September and we visited many wineries. Out of all of the tours, this one was the memorable! Thank you Diego for creating such a fond memory for us!Written 3 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cathy R1 contributionThe apartment over the wine store was spacious and impeccably furnished. We even had our own private garden. The church bells were heartwarming. Matteo and his wife were superb hosts. This was our favorite location in our month long travels in the Tuscany area. Highly recommend. Once in a lifetime experience. Oh, and the wine… amazing. Had to ship some home and it is only opened for very special friends 😉Written 19 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JamesLondon, UK4 contributionsWe had our wedding reception/wedding weekend at Fattoria Viticcio at the end of June 2023 and it was the perfect venue. Having looked around many many venues around Tuscany, Viticcio offered exactly what we wanted and as an added bonus was much more reasonably priced.
We welcomed our guests staying at Viticcio on Friday and Matteo gave everyone a tour of the winery and a fantastic wine tasting with lovely Tuscan meats and cheeses. It was the perfect way to welcome our guests and you have exclusivity of the venue with the wedding package.
With full use of the venue, on the wedding day we had aperitivo on the lawn, dinner in the courtyard and dancing under the sunset on the bbq area. Lorena pulled everything together on the day from ensuring tables were correctly set, having the band in the correct locations, all signs put up and coordinating timings!
Sunday we took advantage of the lovely pool to have a pool party overlooking the Tuscan hills and Viticcio were more than happy to let us bring in a DJ and Sax for no additional cost.
Apartments range from one bedroom to four bedrooms and all are air conditioned with amazing views. All but two have full kitchens which allows guests to keep some food in if they get hungry. As part of the wedding package on two mornings lovely breakfast baskets are provided with sweet and savoury pastries along with milk and juices.
As a fully working winery producing wonderful Chianti Classico's, Vermentinos and a Rosé we had brilliant wines on the wedding day!
As an English couple who do not speak much, if any, Italian it really was not an issue. The team at Viticcio have perfect english and were always more than happy to help out when we needed to translate something to an Italian supplier. Throughout the 9 months planning our wedding Lorena and the team at Viticcio could not have been more helpful, in particular suggesting local vendors for the day and ensuring everything was in place for the weekend!
Viticcio is just a short drive or 20-30 minute walk into Greve, allowing guests the chance to walk into town to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine in the square.
In summary it was our dream wedding and could not imagine a better venue in Tuscany to have had it at!Written 15 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jennifer U4 contributionsWe went for a wine tour and a lunch and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. After getting a private driver (Gabriela through Walter Occhini found on the web) to pick us up from cruise in Livorno then take us to Le Fonti, we were the only people at the winery. We were taken on a tour of the winery grounds and cellar, told about history, then taken to a beautiful old building where our table was ready for lunch. For $50 euros each for the wine tastings and lunch, we expected a light lunch and a few wine tastings. Well let me tell you, we had about 6-7 courses of the most amazing food on the planet, plus 4-5 bottles (not tastings but full bottles) of the most amazing wines. The chef prepared all of our meals and the guide stayed with us to pair each one and explain it, then after topping up our glasses he would leave us briefly to enjoy each round. They also make olive oil there it was incredible. Then our driver took us to Florence and showed us some highlights which we didn’t even expect. He was great. The drive for 4 people from 10 am pickup at Livorno to 3 pm drop off in Florence at our request was $500 euros. Well worth it to not have to figure out trains and buses. Hire Walter or his staff for any of your Livorno/Florence needs and definitely go to Le Fonti once in your lifetime. We will go back in summer and stay a few days.Written 28 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
