We sure enjoyed communing with nature and seeing the baby Kauri trees along with the elders of 1,500 to 2,000 years old.
We made the trip to the Puketi Nature Trail trying to see (or hear) a Kokako... while the walk was very nice, we did not find the bird... but we did see some AMAZING trees! if you are in the area, it is worth you...
