What travellers are saying
- Aya Levy3 contributionsAcadia National Park left me breathless in more ways than one. From the stunning coastal views along Park Loop Road to the challenging yet rewarding hike up Cadillac Mountain, every moment felt like a postcard-worthy adventure. The variety of landscapes, from lush forests to rocky shores, kept the scenery constantly changing. Jordan Pond's serene beauty and the iconic Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse were personal highlights. The park isn't just a feast for the eyes; the crisp mountain air and the scent of pine trees made it a sensory delight. It's not just a national park; it's a haven for anyone seeking a perfect blend of outdoor exploration and soul-soothing tranquility. If you're in Maine and have an ounce of love for the great outdoors, Acadia is an absolute must-explore.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcia MRI9 contributionsCamped at Hadley’s campground in our class C RV. Had shuttle service into Bar Harbor. We rented e-bikes and did the carriage roads. First time using e-bikes and was definitely fun! Love Bar Harbor with all the shops and food. Did the hike along the ocean and was nice. More like a stroll than a hike but that was good. Ate lobster dinners twice. C-Rays lobster shack was right across from the campground so walked there one night. Was worth it.Written 8 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BamafanEdgewater, FL294 contributionsThis hike starts at either Otter Point, or Sand Beach (that has a larger parking area than OP) and is 2.2 miles one way. Several areas to walk off the beaten path to explore the gorgeous views along the rocks of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Passing by Thunder Hole is a treat, although the area is extremely crowded and is best seen between low and high tide. A great hike for all abilities and ages.Written 21 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- llhtexasAustin, TX207 contributionsPerfect place to start the day and stroll along the bay. Beautiful view of Frenchman Bay and Bar Harbor Inn. Trail circle along the waterfront and back into town. Absolutely lovely!Written 30 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- REGINA S2 contributionsAmazing! Saw several small sea animals in the tidal pools. Took many pictures and even went back after tide covered the sand bridge to take more photos. One of many awe-inspiring sites in the Acadia/Bar Harbor area. It is a must see!Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TaurusMomIowa631 contributionsThis was a great park. Surprised by how many people were here, actually. It was late in the day, and we had a great time in the Visitors Center--shich is far better than the visitors center at Acadia. Don't miss it!Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- llhtexasAustin, TX207 contributionsOur hotel stay and boat tour allowed us to experience beautiful views of this bay up close and from a distance. Lovely area of the the country everyone should see at least once.Written 30 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BamafanEdgewater, FL294 contributionsPlenty of parking that's the result of the reservation system in place for Cadillac Mountain road. On a clear sunny day the views are phenomenal with plenty of space to spread out from other people. If it's foggy or misty, the view is definitely impacted with lower visibility.Written 21 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kate P10 contributionsThe most adorable family owned shop! Loren and Shawn were so helpful in finding us the perfect souvenirs and gifts. They also provided some local knowledge of the sites and restaurants. We were so glad to support this local small business, and are excited to visit again in the future!Written 5 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - S4136XSdavidbTexas472 contributionsConsidered a "small" lake, this is an incredibly beautiful place and worth the time to visit. Can get some amazing pictures here. Keep an eye out for wildlife.Written 6 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IthakanIthaca, NY346 contributionsExcellent flight of tasty beers. Kristian was patient and helpful as we chose our samples, and they have a couple picnic tables out back where you can sit. Definitely stop in if you're at Mainely Meats, since the brewery has some beers on tap that aren't offered at the restaurant.Written 4 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert WCorvallis, OR306 contributionsWith good weather and low tides one should take the short walk to Bar Island. Low tide provides about a four hour window to walk out to the wooded island. The views can be dramatic especially when large cruise ships are anchored nearby. The route a simple walk from down town.Written 28 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
