- GitchSupDuluth, MN1,247 contributionsThis absolutely beautiful structure is done in Beaux-Arts style architecture that was popular in the early 1800s, meaning there are a lot of both french and baroque influences making it super ornate and stunning to look at, every detail is a marvel. There are Grecian women looking over the edge "into" the theater, greek urns on the ledges, latticework in the rotunda, stunning columns in a russet red color, shell and floral stonework at the top of the pillars; everywhere you look there is something more to see. If you love architecture you should allow at least an hour to see this stunning sight.Written 5 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Janet G1 contributionSaw Hamilton again! Pro tip - go for seats in the Loge section and use those bathrooms for shorter linesWritten 1 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SkiEmpressSF, CA25 contributionsWhat a wonderful job the Fillmore did last night with limiting capacity, providing seating and preventing people from bunching up. Such a civilized way to enjoy live music, drinks and food. Every seat is amazing. Sound system stellar. Vaccinations required. A very safe and still such a fun venue. Apples in the big bin in the lobby (a Fillmore tradition) are no longer up for grabs; they are passed out to any who would like them. This place is very safe. The history depicted in the many posters is amazing.Written 17 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Susan YSan Francisco4 contributionsMy boyfriend and I saw The Paper Dreams of Harry Chin yesterday and we were both blown away by the funny, emotional and inventive story and moving performances. We regularly watch plays at the Berkeley Rep and Orpheum but this is one of the best I've seen.
The theater is inside the beautiful, historic Kensington Park Hotel, a 10 minute walk from Union Square, where you can see professional performances in a venue that's small enough that you don't have to hassle with getting through a crowd and every seat is a good one.Written 6 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA13,111 contributionsBig shows are held here and we have been to a few. Access is an issue as the climb up the hill is hard on foot and public transit is sketchy. You can park in the Masonic Garage, but there is always a slow line leaving to pay and get out. No good solutions.Written 4 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- phvi2617Anaheim, CA279 contributionsI was here to attend the San Francisco Ballet. The Opera House is a gorgeous Beaux-Arts auditorium, and the performers were superb. Pandemic protocols were well-followed, and the ticket prices were reasonable.Written 2 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- OdeayaUZIAmsterdam, The Netherlands63 contributionsTickets were rather pricey and the first few rows don’t quite have the amazing view you normally get in theaters in Europe. The theatre is well organized to the point where yes, there are massive queues to the restrooms but it moves incredibly fast! The show was not quite what I expected but the performances were excellent! There’s a lot of cape swirling, comical points and the dementors were the high point for me. Go, enjoy!Written 25 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- phvi2617Anaheim, CA279 contributionsI was here to see the San Francisco under the baton of legendary conductor Herbert Blomstedt. Although Davies Hall is now over 40 years old, it has aged well and is a great place to attend a concert.
I sat in the Side Terrace behind the orchestra, which provided a unique view and great sound. Maestro Blomstedt and the symphony were in top form, performing Beethoven and Nielsen. A great afternoon at the concert hall!Written 3 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ree MWalnut Creek, CA11 contributionsTo bad today the show was over. It was a very good show. The players has very nice voice to sing her song. If next time the shop come back to San Francisco and who love theatre should not be missed. Good show.Written 13 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- ScottSan Francisco, CA4,901 contributionsFantastic venue. There are few better examples of upgraded, modernized space than the Strand Theater. This old theater has gone through many changes. But the latest is the best. This is a modern, comfortable venue for live performing arts. Seats are comfortable, auditorium is ultra modern, and best of all the bathrooms are large and clean. there is a concession stand and coffee shop just inside the front door. The staff including the security guards are friendly and helpful.Written 1 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nathan WiseSan Jose, CA175 contributionsI was at the Warfield for a special event and had a great time. I wish their tequila and cocktail selection was better but get it since you are only serving pre-show and possible intermission.
The theatre has great acoustics and most seats have great visibility. I love the historic look of the theatre and will not hesitate to attend. Not much else to say about the theatre since it all depends on the event you are seeing.Written 13 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Forest_ReviewerKenmore, WA83 contributionsWe went to see Hairspray! What a fabulous performance and what a great theater. We had front row of balcony, super great value seats, not a ton of leg room but who cares with a great view. Loved the atmosphere felt intimate and local, different from a bland broadway venue. From picking up the tickets, ordering drinks, to the Artistic director and cast everyone was fabulous. The show itself rates as the best show I have seen and I have seen a lot! The singing was first class and the chemistry of the cast was really authentic. Shame we don’t live in SF or we would be back.Written 3 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
