Had the nicest evening in Birdland Jazz club. We wanted to see some jazz music and wanted to have dinner at the same time and this was the perfect place! We saw Sasha Dobson and she was fantastic! She even came and spoke to the audience after her set. The food was lovely, we shared the meatballs and the pizza because portion sizes are big (compared to portions in the UK). Our server Mona made the night even nicer because of her hospitality and charm. It always makes such a difference when you have a waitress like Mona. Would recommend to anyone visiting NYC!

My wife and I are huge comedy fans, the way some folks are into sports or a favorite band. We've been to the Cellar over a hundred times and have also been to most of the comedy spots in Manhattan. While we like Stand Up New York and enjoyed Carolines before it closed, there really is nothing like the Cellar (and its sister clubs, the Village Underground, and the Fat Black Pussycat (upstairs and downstairs). There are several reasons.

First of all, the physical set up of the Cellar is nonpareil. It's the quintessential brick-backed, low-ceilinged, cozy (ok, tight!) space that standup wants to be performed in; it's intimate to the point of needing an STD test after some visits! And the club has achieved so much popularity that it's never not sold-out (in fact, right now it's impossible to reserve an early Thursday show even a month ahead of time!). The crowds are generally terrific and are about an 80/20 mix of locals and out-of-towners.

Equally important is the job that Estee, the booker, does in finding a nice mix of comedians: straight, gay, male, female, all demographics. That doesn't mean you'll have a "perfect" blend for the show you attend, but over the long haul, it means you'll see a huge variety of performer. And because Estee has great taste, you know that anyone showing up on that stage is top-notch.

The waitstaff is always great. The managers are terrific. The people who work the door do a great job. The food is great -- way better than you'd expect. The prices are more than fair.

Finally, a huge shout-out to the owner, Noam. It's no accident that everything about the Cellar is as good as it can be. He sets things up to succeed and then gets out of the way, allowing his trusted employees to do their job. I've never worked there, but I can't imagine a better boss. Check out his "Live from the Table" podcast if you want to know more about that.

TL; DR: There is no better club for comedy in New York.

Irish pub with an incredible history boasting to be the oldest continuously operating bar/saloon in NYC established in 1854. Definitely worth checking out. However, this is most certainly now a tourist bar. Usually very crowded and filled with patrons packed together. Only dark or light beer on the menu. Cash only.

We had the most amazing time at Dizzy's club. The headliner was Wycliffe Gordon and Friends. The food was amazingly good and the service was attentive. The location is fabulous with a great view of Central Park and the skycrapers. It was everything we had ever hoped for in a NYC jazz venue.

We dropped in to Rudy’s twice during our stay, both times we enjoyed our time. The drinks were reasonable (cheap for midtown), the crowd was pretty local and the music was good. Got talking to multiple locals and it added to our stay. Check it out if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t go too far out of my way🍺

I´ve been a Blues fan almost all my life, I live in Mexico City and now at 46 yrs I had the 1st chance to listen to it live! I did my research, and this bar was mentioned many times, so I planned my itinerary accordingly.

The prices are ok, the waitresses and bartenders were friendly and professional.

I got the chance to listen to Jr Mack (Grammy Nominee) which was great, the whole band has something special and I´m thankful of having this memory now.

You are not allowed to take pictures or videos of the band... at least that you are a woman and dance with the manager (I supposed he was, short guy, long gray hair with sunglasses) I would love to have at least one song recorded on my phone but well, I didn´t wanted any trouble, that said, it was a great night; My 15yr old self finally got to listen a real blues band; as a guitar player and singer, I learned a lot and will make sure to honor it when I jam. Long Live the Blues!

An iconic Jazz location which genuinely exceeded all expectations. I went with my daughter, and whilst neither of us are jazz aficionados the quality of music, the atmosphere and everything about our evening was magical. I love New York (this was my 6th visit), but will now ensure that every return I go back to this magical place.

It helps to get tickets in advance because Smalls is small. They take walk ons but you usually have to sit in the back. It is not handicapped friendly. It has winding steep steps. They have a lot of great jazz musicians performing there. It is one of the clubs we usually frequent. There are many jazz clubs to choose from in NYC. Subway is the cheapest way to travel there from your hotel or wherever you are staying. Taxis are outrageously expensive. $39 to go 2 miles in heavy traffic.

Amazing views on empire state building and the lounge chairs similar to those we have at ski station are so cool
Went with a friend for a rooftop and was not disappointed.
We did not drink nor eat so cannot comment on this. Queue seemed super long to order so we did not bother too much. Looked more a place to grab a beer in a plastic cup rathder than fancy old fashion cocktails..
Not sure i will pick this place for food
Decor is underground nothing fancy and crowd is super chill and young
    Nice spot

We went for a Sinatra Saturday evening and it was a great experience. The band and singer were great, lot of chatting to the audience like the Rat Pack used to 😊
Only negative point is that other guests can be quite loud despite being asked to keep conversation low

Even though Bill has been in Arizona his replacement was wonderful and the whole band was delightful playing great jazz music. We can definitely recommend the place despite the fact that seating is really tight and uncomfortable. We had great 90 minutes.

Great NYC comedy club located in Chelsea. Went to one of the Gotham All-Star nights. Although, I didn't recognize any of the names of the comics who performed, all were great and provided many laughs. Small room without a bad seat in the house. However, don't sit along the stage unless you don't mind being picked on by the comics. $28 plus 2 drink minimum per person for a 90-minute show. There are usually 2-3 shows per night. I was able to book a table for 4 just a week before the show which was convenient unlike Comedy Cellar that was completely booked out well in advance.

We watched a blues act here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Be warned that this is a very intimate venue. It is split into three “venues” within the venue. The one we were in had something like 40 people jammed in. As for value for money, we payed 150 USD for 2 drinks each, some chicken strips, french fries and some guacamole and chips. There was a 20 USD pp cover charge. Value for money? Depends on your perspective…

Visited Bar 54 when staying in the hotel , Hyatt Centric

Left the teenage kids in the hotel room whilst enjoying a drink with the wife as over 21’s only ( we went with the kids to bar 54 early one morning as the hotel allows all residents the chance to visit during the day when not serving alcohol )

Fantastic views, although pricey drinks but it’s New York and it’s the highest rooftop bar in town !
