What travellers are saying
- Justin WHasbrouck Heights, NJ3,246 contributionsThe gardens have a quiet elegance to them in the winter months when nothing is growing but still you can walk around and see all the bushes and statuary. The gardens are under renovation but in the winter months there is nothing to see on that side of the park.
Still is it nice to walk around the shrubbery and see the mazes of the gardens. There are still people walking around admiring the lawns and trees and taking pictures.Written 16 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of people selling tickets for the tours to the islands to be ignored or engaged. When we said no thanks to one we got a barrage of New York attitude about how he was a proper seller and not a tout. All we said was no thanks!
Anyway, lovely park, lovely views and lovely space. Great for families and everyone. There’s a play park for younger kids maybe 9 and under and the Sea Glass carousel.
It’s built on the material excavated for the construction of the World Trade Centre in the 1960/1970sWritten 29 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The flowering trees where definitely past peak, but still had a lot of flowers on them. The views in the garden where truly magnificent, everywhere you looked it was just so colorful. The steps in the garden are a bit uneven, so watch that for children, pets, and anyone with mobility issues. I definitely recommend a trip to the garden in the spring!Written 15 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StephenCrossDublin, Ireland18,004 contributionsThe Ramble is a bit wilder and less kept area of Central Park. It’s a wonderful piece of nature and the life on the water and in the brambles is amazing.Written 27 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PrincessWashington DC, DC138 contributionsThis is a very pretty and charming area~
Unfortunately, it was so so crowded when I visited that I could hardly get a good view.. perhaps it's better when it's not near the holidays!Written 19 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The atrium is very impressive - a high glass roof and full size palm trees.
The center was immaculately clean and opens out to a Marina and west side waterfront walkway.Written 19 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louis FAltus, OK898 contributionsNice little spot in Central park where you can avoid the crowds. Only saw a handful of people while in there and there were plenty of places to sit and relax.Written 8 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KmcoyleSanbornville, NH1,037 contributionsWandering around the West Village and had one of the "locals " direct me to this little slice of natural beauty and peaceful contemplation. A number of short, but curved paths taking maximum advantage of the limited space. Lots of different flowers and bushes with many benches and seats. - Sherry HNorth Canton, OH421 contributionsThis special garden has an interesting history and is a testament to what can be done when people work together for the betterment of their neighborhood. It’s free to visit on Sundays 1:00-4:00, April-November. Talk to one of the volunteers to get the whole story. If you’re in the Upper West Side it’s a must do, but I don’t suggest going cross town just to see it because it’s pretty small.Written 25 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - barry mNew York City, NY165 contributionsProximate to the Cloister Museum in Washington Heights is Fort Tryon Park.
In the parlk, is the Heather Garden which is managed by a non profit organization and volunteers. They provided a walking tour along with photos of the history of the park.
This is a great "botanical garden" in every way, and worth the special trip, along with a "must see" visit to the Cloister Museum, and the great view of the Hudson River.Written 3 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s narrow and long and it does have a small fish pond.Written 22 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - S5387GVsarahbNew York City, NY26 contributionsThis little community garden is always lovely, but don't miss the tulips this week, as they are at their peak! If you miss the tulips, summer flowers follow in this beautiful Upper Westside Oasis.
I am a regular here, as I am frequently in the neighborhood. A great place to bring a cup of coffee in the morning and read the paper.Written 30 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are small tables on the shade, benches and a terrace facing the river. Quiet spot near Wall Street and in front of Wall Street NY Ferry. A place you do not expect to find in this area. Do not miss it!Written 6 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- fachufaheem164 contributionsA big breath of fresh air in NYC among the jungle of buildings and chaos. Central Park is a massive beautiful park always filled with energy and positive vibes. Whether you’re just visiting or taking a stroll through the park, the experience and amazing maintenance of the park are unbelievable.Written 27 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
