Beautiful trees and a giant swimming pool that wasn't open when we were there but looks like an amazing resource for the neighborhood. - Justin WHasbrouck Heights, NJ3,306 contributionsDon't miss the West Harlem Piers Park at the end of 125th Street near the new extension of the Columbia Campus. It has the most breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the Palisades, the coolest breezes on a hot day and a nice place to sit down.
There is some interesting art work in the park that you should see and it is a nice place to take your lunch and eat it by the river. Landscaped with native grasses and trees it attracts all sorts of wild life and acts as a natural cleansing agent to river water that passes through.
It is a very picturesque place with trees surrounding the cove and the Columbia University Rowing Team buildings on the other side so you can watch the team practice during the season.
