What travellers are saying
- Andrew EWhite Bear Lake, MN716 contributionsJust a great experience for those visiting New York. Fine views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York Skyline. Great fun to sit outside on the stern watching the views of Staten Island recede with the wind blowing and water in your face. At the cost of free, cannot be beat. Don't miss.Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Deborah GKent, WA233 contributionsA smooth, clean ride with a Metro card.
We took the tram on Monday morning and we got coffee when we got to Roosevelt Island. After walking around a bit, we got the tram back.
It’s a nice view and experience.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - srpanderson70Milton, FL296 contributionsPier 11 was walking distance from our hotel. Download the GPS for the tickets, the map, the information that you need. There are large maps located at the beginning of the pier that helps with which ferry to get on to. On a clear day, it is a great way to view the city if you ride to all the stops and back to your original place if you just want a tour.Written 18 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Molly MacfarlaneLondon, UK260 contributionsWe rode the subway while on our New York City trip.
It is an efficient way to get around, and we felt safe - though more so on the trains itself rather than at the stations. The lines are easy to understand and trains are frequent.
Our only issue came with buying tickets at the stations - as international visitors, we could not pay with card as it required a U.S. zip code. One time, a ticket didn't work either, so be wary of that.Written 4 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - StephenCrossDublin, Ireland16,913 contributionsThe PATH system is a core part of the transport system and a very inexpensive way to get in and out of Manhattan. Also goes north to mid town.Written 6 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- psudinoWeehawken, NJ3,565 contributionsMy son had a day off from school so I took the day off from work and got us tickets to the Intrepid so he wasn't home all day staring at a screen. I never take the ferry across the river because the train or the tunnel (if driving) are much more convenient and cheaper. The downtown stop is a better stop closer to the action but the midtown stop is only good if you are going to Javitz or the Intrepid.
The cost is too much, the journey is on a less frequent schedule than the train and the parking at Port Imperial is also too much.
So yeah, if this is your first time or if you are a local showing someone the city, this is a nice journey. If you want in and out quickly, take a train.Written 19 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - The Sushi Guy 🍣Long Island, NY13,084 contributionsWe chose to ride the buses on our trip. The electric buses are very nice with Wi-Fi and USB ports. Seating is more comfortable with more ergonomic curvature.Written 26 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jessica1 contributionI am not sure if we got scammed because it was the weekend or if this is legit Monday - Friday! But we bought tickets on Saturday and the whole place was shut up!
The ticket men did a good job at selling them to us and convinced us it was too foggy to see the Statue of Liberty on the free staton island ferry!
They shipped us off on a ferry ( a group of 20) and dumped us in New Jersey! The shuttle bus sped off as quick as he could. We had to get an Uber back!
DO NOT BUY TICKETS FOR THIS BOAT!Written 17 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA12,749 contributionsThis modern extension of the system had received a lot of publicity and it sure took a long time to build. So I was happy to ride it. Very crowded and much-used, so I guess it is much-needed. The stations are big and clean, but not well-decorated. Much deeper than other stations, so the escalators were very welcome.Written 26 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Christopher H4 contributionsIf your in town to see your team play the Giants, this is the best way to go for cheap. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THE SHUTTLE COACHUSA. do not take the NJ transit...
Please be prepared to take a long ride after the game... 2 plus hours just to get back to ManhattanWritten 27 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - StephenCrossDublin, Ireland16,913 contributionsNew York Cruise terminal is near to the Intrepid War ship museum. The terminal is pretty gritty and not worth a visit. Avoid.Written 14 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- John HWinterport, ME27 contributionsWe have used NYC Platinum Transport on two separate occasions and both times the provided great service. Good communications, on time (appropriately early), very friendly, clean and nice vehicles, and safe drivers. Definitely recommend them.Written 25 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Chaun MLos Angeles, CA57 contributionsWe used them for Airport transportation and a private tour. EVERYTHING was AMAZING. Communication was great. They were on time and very friendly. Our tour was awesome and Ray changed it up once we met to include some place he thought we would enjoy. Will use them every time we go to NYC.Written 29 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Glenn DHudson, NH31 contributionsWe caught the bus from Stroudsburg, PA, near where we were staying. Peter took care of all tickets, including the subway.
We were able to modify the tour route to see what we wanted, as it was a small group. Peter has a lot of knowledge, having grown up in NYC, and he added a lot of color to the trip. We covered about 10 miles of walking and got to see all the highlights we asked for: 9-11 memorial, Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, NYC Library, and much, much more.
The highlight was a trip up the just-opened Summit viewing area at 1 Vanderbilt. The view was spectacular, and we caught it at sunset. Worth every penny!Written 29 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Lauren S1 contributionso reliable - book without hesitation. Thank you Donny and team for working around the clock and answering all our questions and needs.Written 19 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
