What travellers are saying
- mark dobson5 contributionsOne of the world's great collections - a greatest hits of old masters - on show in a gallery for the only time while its home is refurbished. A brilliant experience - these paintings just glow. Not to be missed!Written 29 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BronteBucketHarrogate, UK638 contributionsWanted to do something different on this trip to NYC so caught the aerial Tramway to Roosevelt Island. Once we mastered the ticket machine, we boarded the tram and took the short journey alongside the Ed Koch Queensborough Bridge. It was a nice view of the streets and across the water but over relatively quickly. Would be a nice commute to work from the island!Written 4 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Adventure DivaManchester, CT1,946 contributionsLocated in a quiet Upper East Side neighborhood, we were glad to have stumbled upon this museum. One my favorite artists, Gustav Klimit's collection is here. Museum is well laid out. Great book store.Written 14 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Brookvt33 contributionsI agree with others, the exhibits are overrated and the cost is steep. Go for the design of the building and works by Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne and Gaugin. Winding up from the later to earlier works of Vasily Kandinsky had us wishing we'd started at the top and worked our way down. I didn't care for the style of Cecilia Vicuña.Written 6 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kittygal 🇺🇦 🌻Los Angeles, CA7,821 contributionsPassed through the UES on my way to the Frick and, as always, l loved the wonderful shops and architecture.
The neighborhood gardens are maintained with care, as they are all over NYC.

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
…. as part of my 28+K step and 18.2 kilometer walk through midtown and central Manhattan. I was here around Grand Central terminal and again in the low 90s of cross streets. My main journey was on Fifth Avenue- from 42nd Street to 93rd Street. I passed and visited all the famous stuff- and enjoyed it.Written 1 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are a huge number of top fashion, make up, perfume and home ware brands.
There are also multiple restaurants, including Magnolia Bakery, Flip burger, 40 Carrots and more.
A New York icon and well worth a visit.Written 22 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Since we were there in the morning, there weren't very many people there and it was quite quiet. Lots of beautiful artifacts and the Sassoon exhibit was wonderful. Highly recommend this smaller museum to anyone who wants to learn more about Jewish history or just go somewhere that isn't as popular as the Moma or Met. We also went on Saturday, which we learned was a free day!Written 16 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonathan C.La Jolla, California, USA338 contributionsVisited this museum during Museum Mile Week - there was a line out the door and around the corner, but the staff moved everyone along quickly. It was definitely a very interesting museum that showcased the broad diversity of design, from epidemiological and medical design during COVID to designing peace between populations and countries.Written 5 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - neil102Astoria, NY7,845 contributionsA beautiful little park adjacent to Gracy Mansion has beautiful views of Queens and Roosevelt Island. I took friends and relatives here last year, and they marveled at the East River and Vernon Blvd on the other side. - Adventure DivaManchester, CT1,946 contributionsThrough exhibitions, lectures and educational sessions, you gain a better understanding of this art. Robert Hunt's vibrant illustration was being shown and we were happy to explore his work.Written 14 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - femaleboxerNew York City, NY605 contributionsI had the joy and honor of attending a conversation with Lin-Manuel Miranda and others in this beautiful temple. I was pretty far back, but I could still hear and see everything clearly. It was a popular enough event that the lines to get in wrapped around the building, but once it got moving, it was pretty fast.Written 31 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel C4 contributionsAlways enjoy coming to Sotheby's and checking out the exhibits. This past weekend was a little off-putting, however, because we had a strange interaction with an employee that was working the retail level on the ground floor (the area with all the handbags). My daughter was looking at a carry-on case and barely touched it when a sales woman marched over and barked that we should ask for help (there are no "do not touch" signs anywhere, FYI). This "lady" also was quick to tell us that the price of the bag was $20K; the subtext of course being that she presumed we couldn't afford it. So bizarre and so unlike the other professionals that work at Sotheby's. I guess there's a bad apple in every bunch, so I won't dock Sotheby's for this one unpleasant person. I'm sure she won't last long.Written 7 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- portland_OR_birdPortland, OR71 contributionsWhat a great venue! We loved it. We came to NYC (from Portland, OR) for 33 hours to see "Oresteia" and have some fun in the city - we'd been reading about the production in the NYT for at least 3 months, and wow, I'm so glad we did! The venue is incredible. Beautiful older building, great lighting, I wish we could have just hung out there for longer. Masks were required, which we appreciated, and proof of vax, too. And the location is great - we stayed at the Loews Regency, ate at Barbaresco, and went to the Armory, which was a perfect evening. No cab required, and plenty of time for a great meal, and a perfect play. Thank you to everyone at the Armory for making this such a great space for theater. Can't wait to come back.Written 8 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
