    Blue Man Group
    Everyone was super friendly! Donald the doorman directed us to a warm dry beautiful place to wait for the show and laughed at our stories. Three people at the bar tracked down ingredients to make a drink I saw online. All of the ushers and ticket takers were kind and patient. And of course the show was Great!

    Beautiful theatre with lots of talent
    Splurge for the better seats. It’s worth it. Spectacular show lineup. Parking next door or down the block. Good restaurants within walking distance. Bars on each floor and clean, spacious bathrooms. A great spot to see a matinee

    Les Miserables
    This it’s our second time watching a show at the Academy of Music. What a wonderful venue to catch a show. There is no bad seat in the house. We first watched Hamilton and now Les Miserable. Both sores were spectacular. The service was excellent, they were very friendly and helpful. The seats were super comfortable and you did not feel like three person sitting next to you was all in your personal space as you do in other theaters. We enjoyed the presentation and will definitely be back for other shows.

    Read RECENT reviews only. Parking is now FREE.
    I don't understand all of the negative reviews. This venue is perfect. We were concerned about the parking based on other reviews but we got there at 6 pm for a 7:30 pm start (Bonnie Raitt) and we had NO problems with parking. NONE. Staff were kind, considerate professional and helpful. Bathrooms were clean (but there were lines for the ladies). There were no long lines for beer. Mind you, we got there early, about 90 minutes before the show started. I would not recommend flitting in at the last minute and expecting a get a drink and food and getting to your seat 10 minutes before show time. Don;t be an idiot. Leave early, give yourself plenty of time, and pregame in the parking areas. The views if the skyline were wonderful. Drink prices were high, so bring chairs, bring a cooler, and get there way early and party in the parking area before the show starts. That is the way to handle this venue. Bonnie was fantastic at 70 years old!

    Three stars for the food and cocktails
    As a music venue the World Cafe Live is excellent. The seafaring is comfortable and the sound is good. The food options are limited and average. The “upswell” eggplant fries are a good choice. The cocktails are inconsistent.

    Minor Characters
    So glad the in person experience is back, done thoughtfully, paying close attention to safety. Masks, absolutely. Vaccine status checked at the door. Socially distant seating. Limited patrons permitted.
    Great place to get a cup of freshly brewed coffee before the show. Performance was outstanding- Minor Characters. A must see and si good to see the actors in person. Bravo!

    Great Theater, Great Performance
    I flew into Philly for the day to see the play Choir Boy at the Philadelphia theater company. The play was excellent and we were equally impressed with theater. The sound was excellent, no seat was a bad seat, the set set design was simple yet functional and satisfyingly appointed. There was a small art exhibit on the upper level that we enjoyed before the play began. I was really impressed with the theater and the production.

    The Nutcracker was amazing
    The costumes, the dance, the orchestra and the overall performance was amazing. I took my 9 and 12 years old sons and they really enjoyed

    Be in the play
    this is a small theater where the stage is often surrounded on three sides. We first went for a Shakespeare play, then the second year for two plays, and next season we have season tickets. The plays are done with minomal scenery. We like to sit in the first row, as we feel sometimes we are in the play. Often when the actors make a side comment they will face the people nearest them. We love their plays.

    EgoPo: A Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience
    Being someone that frequently sees theater performances in Philadelphia, EgoPo is a whole new and refreshing experience. The directing and staging of these shows are fantastic, creative, and innovative. Each show is different and refreshing, which is usually hard to do with plays that are classics but EgoPo repeatedly succeeds.

    The small space (The Latvian) in which these plays are performed adds to the enjoyment of the performances due to the intimate nature it gives to the performances, that is so important in the creation of theater. The selection of plays are important and thought provoking in the way they are packaged and presented in the season. I will definitely continue to visit.

    Always great performances.
    At least twice a year we try to attend Opera Philadelphia excellent performances. Some are in the Academy of Music, some in Perelman Theater.
    We enjoyed recenlty Semele - an oratorio, in three parts with music by George Frideric Handel - great performance - and Verdi's Requiem.
    Check on line. If you have a spare evening in Philadelphia and longing for some night life experience going to Philadelphia Opera performance may be an enjoyable way to spend time.

    Fun night but bad ending
    We saw G-Love… great show! Paid an extra $100 to sit in the balcony. Right after the show we were told we couldn’t use the restroom and had to leave the venue. Seriously? After paying an upcharge? And can’t use the restroom? Definitely not a good ending to a great night.

    Can't give 5 stars because bathroom access needs updating. The first floor handicap bathroom could be reconfigured for 2
    Beautiful old theater. Nothing wrong that money couldn't fix. Has to do with accommodating handicapped and seniors.

    This was a great place to see a show but, that wasn’t a bad thing at all. Every band sounded great. Definitely stand upstairs if you can

    Not A Bad Seat In The House
    I am a lover of the ARTS..just wish I would participate in going out to the theatre more often! I haven’t been to the Arden in a while, but when I returned to see ‘My General Tubman’ it reminded me of what a great space this is to showcase talent!

    The seating is intimate and you feel each actors portrayal with the intensity they deliver! There isn’t a bad seat in the Arden..so feel confident that you will enjoy the show no matter what tickets you may have.

    This particular play I saw was a creative storytelling of Harriet Tubman’s life and achievements as well as placing a modern twist on the interpretation of some events!

    Keep up that the great work of fostering top notch creative shows!
