- A_WanderingMitch14 contributionsVery nice area of Hervás, Extremadura. Worth a nice, relaxed walk around and finish with a tapa and caña.Written 27 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- hans-jaguarSanta Comba Dao, Portugal22,289 contributionsTo visit this (Small) but lovely maintained museum, please do not follow your Gps, it is better to follow the signs or to ask on a local, tis because the Gps will try to take you through even smaller villages, we use “Tom Tom” and we did not get there without asking a local. Well worth a visit, but check the opening times first. Long break for a nap at lunchtime, as it is usual in Spain. Here you will see a very strange mix of cars, motorcycles, carriages but anyhow it is well worth an hour or two of your time. It has a strange mixture, but it is good and it is not expensive. The exhibits are in several states of repair but it is a nice place to walk around. The ride until the location can look a bit scary for some people, but as long as you do not stop on the steep hill it is OK.Written 30 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christine SChester, UK175 contributionsVery interesting sculpture and art works in a fascinating palace - don’t miss this! Sculptures often in Graeco/ Roman tradition but very modern faces. I particularly liked the paintings by his wife. One showing the fair of San Isidro showed women working/ looking after the children while the men lolled about drinking! There is a beautiful old carved chest at the top of the stairs that I coveted.Written 12 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mike NSaffron Walden, UK26 contributionsIn December 2016 I found myself trapped on the mountain road that runs from Hervas through the national park. My satnav had taken the shortest route and I ended up on a single track road blanketed in snow. I was fortunate to be rescued by a local man who had taken his daughter into the mountains with her sledge. It meant that I had to leave my truck and fifth wheel overnight and take a taxi back to them the next day to collect some things. The taxi driver not only was willing to drive the 13km up the mountain road but when we were stopped by ice and snow helped me to walk the remaining 1km to the fifth wheel and get inside to retrieve my items. When we got back to the hotel after over an hours trip the fare was 12 Euros!Written 6 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
