Very interesting visit. Some very old artefacts. Can use an iPad for English translations. Has a lift and clean toilets too.

I've been lucky to travel to many parts of the world with a number of very good tour companies, but Hedonistic Hiking has always been the standout experience. Whilst its size mean it is unlikely to garner the votes to win a travel award, that factor is one of the keys to its success. No group is more than fifteen and all will be led by at least Jackie or Mick if not both. The people they get to work with them when needed are friends, not employees and share their passion for the food, wine and culture of the places they walk in.

Another key factor in their success is the unrelenting planning and attention to detail that goes into each trip. The many component parts can only increase the risk of some aspect not working to plan but over many trips that has never been apparent. Their friendly, positive approach helps groups of total strangers to quickly gel and generate their own character.

Once planned and run every trip is subject to constant review so it is possible to repeat one and enjoy a different experience. The quality of these experiences leans heavily on the close relationships they have built up with hotels, restaurants, food and wine producers and artisans. Many are more friends than suppliers.

Tuscany and Siena will always be my go-to option, but if you are unsure about the walking aspect the Jewels of Piedmont tour would be a good one to start with. Home of White Truffles, Barolo, chocolate and the Slow Food Movement with some walking of course.

Not cheap but once you land you have to be a serious retail therapist to need to disturb your wallet.

My only complaint. They didn't start their company when I was younger.

We emailed to arrange a visit and they were so helpful, we explained we wanted to bring our young daughter with us, nothing was too much trouble. They arranged for someone to collect us and the tour was fabulous the guide was so lovely and knowledgeable. The room where they store all the wine was just beautiful how lovely to see how it’s all made, bottled and stored.
The wine tasting was just excellent we enjoyed 7 different wines which we all enjoyed and the food was just wow
What a wonderful spread of food and we also had hot beef pasta which was divine.
We purchased some wine and other things as mementos of our fabulous Vineyard and so be tasting experience!
It’s just fabulous thanks so much to you all 💛
