- AlfieLondon, UK143 contributionsI came for the tour, but unfortunately, it was all booked. When we called on the call, they mentioned it was available, but the way up there was so lovely that we enjoyed every bit of it. If you were fortunate like ourselves, and you couldn't find a ticket. You can enjoy swimming or having a little picnic under the shades—a highly recommended trip.Written 30 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - leondesardegnaIglesias, Italy14 contributionsThe coast of Nebida and Masua is amazing. You should definately take a walk on Oasi Belvedere where You will See all the coast of Gonnessa and Fontanamare beach, San Pietro Island on the left! And in the right Pan di zucchero and Masua coast :) The best, the most beautiful and quiet place of Sardinia 🌊🌊🌊🌞🌞🌞Written 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - duhozBeroun, Czech Republic7,586 contributionsEven it is out of the beaten path surprisingly the beach is busy even out of the season during mid week. The landscape is amazing. The beach with white sand, crystal clear water with umbrella and deck chairs to have tent. There is a nice restaurant just right on the beach. You you rent paddle boat or kayak (10€ per hour) to take a trip to see Porto Flavio or Pan di Zucchero and go through out the small caves or even further to other beaches. It is also possible to trek to Nebida along the coast in 60 – 90 minutes.
From Iglesias you can take a local bus (about 25 minutes) and back from Nebida, the neighboring village.
There is pad car park but it is also possible to find some free parking placesWritten 19 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Antonello L24 contributionsThe cave is very beautiful, truly unique, and well cared for. I really enjoyed the tour with the train ride inside the mine. Tour guides are kind and knowledgeable, and the visit felt safe and informativeWritten 13 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel N7 contributionsWe did the wine tour with Mario (the owner) and his nephew (translating into English). It was a great afternoon on the winery . We tastet all the wines served with fresh baked bred, did a walk through the vineyard where Mario explained about the different soils and climas and a little bit of history. Afterwards we went inside, learned everything about the production processes and tasted wines in different stages. We ended up buying some boxes of there delicious wine and Mario even recommended and reserved a place for us in a restaurant in Iglesias after we told him we wanted to have dinner somewhere.
It was really good experience. Mario and his nephew were really nice, explained everything in detail and showed us their passion for their small Juwel winery. Highly recommended!Written 29 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We have seen much natural beauty on this side of the island and glimpses of the Sardinian mining history that has been left behind. Mute and silent, the crumbling building unable to share their story.
Lucky for us, we were able to have it all come to life at the museum. Make sure to schedule an appointment, we tried one day but the gate is locked. The organization is ALL volunteer run and the most passionate. Francesca gave us a private tour/class answering so many of our questions and opened ideas in my brain I’ve never previously considered. I know how mining works now! The whole evolution of techniques and equipment on display because the museum is actually a previous technical school for mining students. Now returning to the old mining sites, I can identify what equipment was used for and can imagine it as it was.
This is an affordable, fun, educational, hands on experience that I recommend completely. Visit the museum, then go see the old equipment at Nabida and monteponi after!
Thank you Francesca!

- sophierspiegelJohns Creek, GA2 contributionsI just finished hiking 3 days of the Camino de Santa Barbara. The website was well organised, and the staff was very attentive to the numerous emails I sent asking many questions in preparation for out journey. We used the accommodations that the website recommended. All of them were fabulous and the people running the hostels were very warm and hospitable. The trail is well-marked. Although on the hike from Nebida to Buggerru there are some parts where it could be easy to get off course. For that reason highly recommend downloading the app and the maps included. The digital map kept us on course. The views were epic the entire time especially overlooking Pan de Zucchero and Porto Flavio. Overall a 10/10 experience would highly recommend it!Written 4 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David BUtrecht, The Netherlands178 contributionsArriving at the mines was different then we expected. There is almost no information and because we didn't book in advance we could not visit anything inside the closed area. It is strange to see this mine closed, it has almost a bit of a gloomy feeling, it was still functional up to the 90's but it looks amazing. We really hope they make it more accessible and then we will definitely come back. For now it is a great place to make some pretty pictures of industrial heritage.Written 7 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katie PNorth Wales, UK791 contributionsIf you type in Piscinas Irgas into iPhone maps, it will direct you along a countryside road that eventually becomes impassable and requires you to park your car. If you take the left hand paths and follow the red and white painted marks this will take you to the waterfall, when we went it was not a waterfall but more just a trickle, still the hike was beautiful and enjoyable. You can walk along part of the Cammino Minerario di Santa Barbara which is the blue sign with a castle on it and yellow arrows or the blue and white painted marks.Written 3 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
