- Discover298351032951 contributionNice having family outing here, especially the base camp. The staff Masum is very friendly and providing good service.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dragonboaterUKOld Windsor, UK16 contributionsThis is a great way to spend a couple of hours understanding local history and customs from the last couple of hundred years. The artifacts and architecture are beautifully kept, so the experience was both authentic and interesting. The guided tour is free once you've bought your entry tickets - we were lucky enough to have the excellent Stanly as our guide; he's a real character!Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KodoDrummerBuenos Aires, Argentina65,207 contributionsPenang has Asia's first Swiss-made funicular cable railway system, which takes four minutes. On the hill, you can overlook much of Penang, a bit like Victoria Peak in Hong Kong.Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - William LParis, France168 contributionsReally nice temple to visit with a beautiful buddha statue on the top! You have to pay a ticket to take the lift to go on top. Before reaching the temple, there is a lake full of turtoises, you can feed them with vegetables from a guy sitting next to the lake.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mushroom001Puchong, Malaysia461 contributionswe went with a 5yo kid. we love everything about it. bought the tickets online via 3rd party and it's much cheaper. the exhibits are great and well maintained. all in all very satisfiedWritten 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Venture226226134771 contributionExcellence service from Mr Resty. He was patient, attentive to the needs of my elderly parents, and would go the extra mile to make all the necessary arrangements for our convenience.
The food available at the hotel was good too, like nyonya curry laska, aglio olio - al dente spaghetti (from Mangga), prawn mee, dhal (breakfast), and the dining experience at Indigo was not to be missed. Overall experience was memorable.Written 17 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It does not take that long to go through the formal exhibit and to see the site. Well worth a visit if you have never been a clan house.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa GLincoln, UK3 contributionsWe went immediately after the tropical fruit farm. The fruit farm was well organised but the spice garden less so. Our experience would’ve been better if we were even allowed our taxi driver in with us! We weren’t offered the audio guide, just a map which was a little confusing.
It was an enjoyable visit nevertheless and we saw spices growing that we ordinarily wouldn’t have (smell the lemongrass! Wow!)
We got a little lost in there but it’s not too big. It’s a worthwhile visit, but the experience is not as good as the fruit farm. I just hope that they get the profit needed to have guides! We spent about 4 hours, walking around, taking in the sights. We saw a monkey, black giant squirrels, lots of butterflies, birds, plants, flowers,... the list goes on.
It was heartening to see many school kids with their teachers taking the tour. I'm glad that the next generation is being taught about nature, and our the environment.
Bonus : It was also a lot cooler at the Habitat, than the 'plains' below.
And the funicular train to the top and back was interesting too.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrMrsHappyRLiverpool, UK1,223 contributionsPleasant enough place, a bit smaller than we thought it would be, but unique to visit. Lots of little shops open from 10am. A few restaurants open later in the day. At the end of the jetty there are some nice views of Penang Bay. Before the entrance there is a beautiful temple areaWritten 29 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Highroads TravelerNewtown Square, PA647 contributionsTraveling to Burma is definitely on my bucket list, but until then, I had a great experience at the Burmese Temple, right here in Penang! It was great to walk the grounds and enjoy the temple… I loved the world map and the monk on site for prayer intentions.Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
