What travellers are saying
- Christoffer CNarvik, Norway122 contributionsWe had a rental car and found plenty of parking spaces. It’s a nice place that was very relaxing, and there weren’t many other people there. We arrived quite late, just before closing time. The toilets at the entrance were dirty and lacked both soap and paper, which suggests poor cleaning maintenance. The man sitting in the ticket booth seemed like he had seen better days, as he appeared grumpy and not very satisfied with his job. The ruins were very impressive, and you got a good sense of how large everything actually was. It seems like they have used digital screens before, but these weren’t working, just like the access gates, which must have had their heyday, as they weren’t working either.Written 3 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. **Charming and Vibrant - A Must-Visit Spot!**
Elfitherius Square is a delightful place to visit, brimming with charm and local character! Whether you're here to relax or explore, the square offers something for everyone. The surrounding architecture is stunning, and the open space is perfect for a leisurely stroll or simply sitting back and people-watching.
The cafés and shops around the square add to its vibrant atmosphere, and there's always something happening, from street performances to local markets. It’s a great spot to soak in the culture and energy of the area. Highly recommend a visit to Elfitherius Square – you won’t be disappointed!

Don’t be fooled by the “free sun beds” hook, they are only free if you buy something from the restaurant / bar they are linked to & and if you want a water side bed there is a monsoons of €40 or 50. At these places you cannot bring your own food or drink, not even water, you must buy their food & drink.
When on Lambi beach we opted to pay €8 per day (2 beds/1 umbrella/1 chair/1 table) off a lady called Elizabeth, with yellow & green sun bed mattresses & umbrellas. This is not attached to a restaurant / bar so you can bring all your own food, picnic, drink, beers etc and she offers free pushbike parking for patrons.
The views out across the water to Turkey are great and you can also watch the boats coming and going.
The main part of the beach is sandy and gets stony as you enter the water. The water depth drops off pretty quickly so younger children need constant supervision.Written 23 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dave E21 contributionsReally worth a visit when you’re in Kos.
We spent around 40 minutes looking around and taking it in. Would be even better if there was more information boards there to tell you more about the history. It’s also free.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mo LEssex, UK94 contributionslots of shops and restaurants and not too pricy.
loads of boats for trips.
you can see lots of ruins for free but to be honest they should charge a bit so someone could just go around emptying bins and having a clean up.
so much rubbish around which is very sad, and everything is left to overgrow.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There was four of us and for 4 breakfasts, orange juices and a coffee and a water each it was so reasonable and affordable. Fab treat to ourselves at the end of our holiday. Peaceful place to relax and dine or go for a stroll either at the evening or during the day.Written 3 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli N14 contributionsNice little museum in Kos Old Town! Worth of Visit, if you like to see historical statues etc. We were lucky to Visit on a day that the admission was free, but it is only 6€ for adults anyways.Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - srecno_potSlovenia302 contributionsAs it is the most visited attraction in Kos town, you would expect it to be more well kept surrounding. It is a really touristy spot, so in the season it is hard to get a great picture of it. Beside it are the ruins of the mosque, seriously damaged in the last earthquake.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LondonSouthLondonSouth Wales, UK98 contributionsGraet to wander around and great for me. A well preserved roman street, original mosaics, wall paintngs, marble and archways all very absorbing and free.
For the kids a bit more on site information would have been good to bring things to life a bit more.Written 16 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Went in and was quoted £50 for a repair went back and was only 30 as repair wasn't as first though. Not many people would do that. Speak to Franco.
