Stunning carpets of bluebells all over the wood. April 2022, dry underfoot. Good paths meandering around the nature reserve. Blackthorn in blossom.

What a lovely place. I hadn't heard of it before but found it by a random google map search for somewhere to walk, and glad I did
Parked in Elmley Castle village and walked up Hill Lane to the stary of the hill itself.
Steep and gravelly in place so watch your step, but there are different route options to take.
Such a quiet and peaceful walk through woods and up the hill and past a lovely little farmhouse towards the tower and the peak. Footpaths are easy to follow and not too arduous, and even the tough bits are worth it when you get to the top and look out over the shire across to Malvern Hills!

Well organised, good safe one way system, millions of flowers on display, but as we came on the last possible day, many of the sunflowers were past their best. At the end of the walk we had looked forward to buying a bunch of sunflowers - sadly they had sold out.

Pershore park is fantastic in the heart of the town. Great welcome back event on bank holiday Sunday in august. Great sunny day and everyone was enjoying themselves.

We;ll worth a visit to find out so much about the history of the place and how much we owe to the staff who worked so hard on the use of radar to help win the war

Myself and a friend called in on a casual jaunt around the pershore area. Wow, what a beautiful place. We spent the best part of an hour going round and around Defford village searching for the place, eventually resorting to phoning up ! It's on the main road outside Defford and not signposted or labelled. In fact I'd driven past it several times. Tiny car park and it's not really a commercial pub. It's the most beautiful thatched cottage with a very friendly owner who serves various ciders and with a beautiful garden where you can sit at ease amongst the butterflies and enjoy a drink. I was driving so I daren't drink but the owner sells cans of soft drinks. There's no food available but the owner is happy for you to bring your own sandwiches of a picnic. A place to visit in the sunshine, certainly in the good weather, with or without a picnic ! Unbelievable place, the Americans wouldn't believe it !!

My father collected militaria and my son inherited his collection, part of which was a painstakingly constructed montage of Hussar regimental badges in a home made frame, with labels made from filed and smoothed lolly sticks. The frame eventually disintegrated and my son decided that he would like the badges professionally framed as a gift.Chris painstakingly removed the pins fixing the badges, ordered new felt in Cavalry Blue, refixed the lolly sticks holding in the badges and created a frame around the old frame and glass. While he told of his journey into making the frame he revived such happy memories of my father - not a straight line in sight, emery boards hidden as packing in the frame- that we laughed with so much affection. But he was also respectful in trying to keep as much of Dad's work as he could. We like to think that our father was looking at us, pleased that we were looking after the badges, but stunned that we would'nt attempt it ourselves! Chris has given us all a treasured memory of our father and my son's grandfather which is now a family story. And that is beyond price so thank you to Chris and Jilly for your help.

The beauty of Comberton is that you don't have to book.Just turn up and you will be slotted in very promptly.A short but testing course where your drive for fourteen of the holes has to be straight.
Always a warm welcome and limited food upon completion.
Be careful during the winter as unless it's dry it's likely to be closed with loads of lying water.
