The building itself has a long history and it’s interesting to see evidence of how it’s been adapted over the centuries. The collection is diverse and helps bring to life the history of the town. Despite the small size of the rooms the exhibits are displayed thoughtfully with clear interpretation. The volunteers are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. We turned up for our booking at 6, but unfortunately we weren’t booked in so we had to sit around the front room on our own, even though we had booked via email. Nevertheless, the empty room was soon filled with others which felt a bit more normal, and the food was lovely. - Sarah283 contributionsWe really enjoy this little market. It seems to have something for everyone. The stall holders are all really friendly and helpful. There are regulars for cheese, meat, fruit and veg, bakery and wonderful milk with cream on top, pet food and much more.
