Love this place and so did my sons aged 5 and 9. Plenty of hands on activities and so much to learn. Really recommend, food is a bit expensive so take a packed lunch but overall fantastic place to go.

Had a fantastic afternoon at the gin school, learning about gin distillery and making our own gins.
Recommend doing this and do take the bus or taxi as you have a few glasses and gin and mixers.
Great value for money and we bought more bottles of gin as gifts too

We went to collect a couple of mugs which we had ordered online . What a wonderful gallery I could have bought everything in the shop we ended up with a glass worktop saver, a couple of place mats and a coaster as well as the mugs! All the items in the shop are of excellent quality . We were greeted by a very nice man and a cup of coffee we were not pressured into buying anything and enjoyed a leisurely look at all the brilliant art work and the videos and live cameras what a talent , what a great place to visit.

the kitchen garden and orchard are brilliant and packed with bountiful crops to be harvested. it also has a stunning collection of plants in the various borders and gardens. The clipped hedges of yew create individual room scapes.

Being Winter, the majority of the theme park was closed off, so we only had access to a few kids rides and the animal areas. At a reduced price of around £15 each, this was fairly acceptable.

Positives first - the kids were thoroughly entertained throughout. A big fan of the play park - we spent the good part of an hour here, spread between the start and finish of our visit. The Sea Lion show was a hit and the attractions for the kids were decent (especially the Helicopters). We had fun seeing the animals, in particular the Meerkats and the Monkeys.

Negatives - understandably off-season, we still felt there was a real lack of staff about, especially around the animals. It did feel a little bit dirty and dated, again this may be down to the time of year but it did look run down. ‘The Coach House’ was average at best - the staff were lovely but there was nothing available from the menu. A bit disappointing.

Would we go back - I would personally like to venture back when the whole park is open again (may be able to judge it more fairly). That said, i’m not overly fussed about visiting again in the Winter.

Wharram Percy was a village high in the Yorkshire Dales, that due to changes in farming was cleared and abandoned in the 16th century. Today the site has only a ruined church and a later 18th century farmstead standing, but the ground and landscape are full of clues as to what would have been a small but bustling community. Archaeological digs have helped to develop our understanding of the place and now it is a very interesting visit for those with a historical interest, with multiple information boards giving all the data one might need to really understand the location.

A pleasant walk from the car park although steep in places, this place has the potential to allow kids to run around and let off some steam, anyone to take a gentle wander, and learn a little bit along the way.

I’m really not sure how to write this review as it was such an incredible evening, the performers were so talented from their voices & costumes to their ability to play guitars so well & the drums for Steve. I was picked on as the young one/carer but it was all in good spirits as Alan was a true Scouser & comedian. They were great as individual acts Buddy & the Everly Brothers then as a foursome as the Dreamers, the venue was perfect too & is an absolute asset to this town, if you’re thinking about going, don’t, get it booked now & ensure the longevity of this incredible theatre!

Just bought a Rangemaster cooker from Yates. This took several visits and a lot of thinking. The staff were very helpful, pleasant and patient. There was no hard sell. The delivery all went according to plan without any fuss. Yates is a great shop and I strongly recommend them.

The museum has two rooms, one dealing with prehistoric and Roman Malton and area, the other with more recent history. The volunteer guide was very helpful and informative. The exhibits are very well set out with information cards for each display, well explained and easy to understand. One room has a display of souvenirs, books etc, I bought a nice birthday card. The museum is only open at certain times but definitely finding out times and planning a visit.

A well cared for church with a fascinating history. Good to see the Romanesque architecture with little later alteration. Interesting misericords and good information boards about the Gilbertine order.

Can’t express enough what a lovely place this is to go camping! The owner Roddy is absolutely amazing, he was so kind and helpful! We ended up getting a flat tyre on the way there and would have been stuck without his help! If your wanting beautiful scenery and a private spot to camp then this is the perfect place for you!! They provide the appropriate equipment including fire pits and water etc which was just what we needed! Thank you again to Roddy, brilliant host, we will definitely be back again soon! Jake and Beth.

We spent half an hour in here Xmas Eve and found it a very spiritual, peaceful time.
It is lovely to see a church that you can go in and wander round, and then just sit and reflect backed by the soothing organ music.
Really peaceful and relaxing however sad to read there was no collection box for the candle lighting, as it had been stolen (is nothing sacred!!)
Also sad to see a scanner to donate by card as slightly out of character with the rest, but probably necessary given what I’ve said above.

Found on their website high quality crystal glasses, exactly what I wanted. I was reassured to see this is a bricks and mortar store, so I went ahead and placed an order. Excellent communication, with a 'item shipped' notice provided the following day.

Wine glasses were well packaged, and with fast shipping, parcel was on my doormat in Sydney within 5 business days!

    Great online shopping.
