What travellers are saying
- Sarah CAshtead, UK1,290 contributionsIt's well worth sending a couple of hours along the South Bank, there's so much to see, mock beaches, art galleries, bridges, city vista, people watching...Written 29 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - need2trvlMiamisburg, OH471 contributionsWe had gone to the wildlife Sydney Zoo. In Queensland people are unable to touch or hold a koala due to the fires. Understandably, there are concerns about any type of virus or health conditions passed on to the fragile koala. The Lone pine sanctuary exhibits animals native to Australia. The queen of course is the koala. Make sure and clarify whether you are getting a photo holding the koala or standing near the koala. The holding the koala will be much more professional photos versus standing near the koala. We spent about 3 hours there. Lone pine also has a great way to see kangaroos and feed them. You basically walk through their pen. It was so enjoyable. Make sure you don't have very nice shoes on ! Very walkable. The cafe was so so. . They did not have the staff and you had to really wait for food. Not much of a selection. Very happy we went here. This is really the best place to see native animals.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LarrySylviaBuderim, Australia22 contributionsMy wife developed a limp, so couldn't walk around Brisbane, Instead we took a City Cat cruise from North Quay to Hamilton and back. A wonderful trip made even more enjoyable by the friendly and helpful crew.Written 29 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - YouweedogDundee, UK12 contributionsWe only did it cause our hotel was 5 min walk. So glad we did. The tour guide Josh was great. So many interesting facts and nice 3 beers to round it off.Written 4 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WelshSaraH89Blackwood, UK7 contributionsBeautiful views of the city from afar, a lovely looking cafe to have lunch at, we didn't have anything there but seemed busy. We got an uber up but found out there was a bus that goes there too so got that back down.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PaulBartlettYork, UK211 contributionsBy pure good luck our hotel was across the road. What a simply beautiful park. So varied with some great livestock. Birds are always a pleasure but the Eastern Water Dragons are something special. Just a pity we weren't there for the Christmas lights, which were being installed and looked like they would be spectacular. Reading that this must have been a flat railroad yard only 20 plus years ago, so a huge amount of work must have been necessary to develop this special place.Written 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DamonLondon, UK39 contributionsWell cared for and wide selection of plants and trees located near the look out point for Brisbane city. There was free parking and a cafe for convenience. Also, as a bonus, Brisbane’s Planetarium is located next to the parking area.Written 9 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ItchyFeetCamarillo, CA7,752 contributionsWe got tickets and rode the city cat up to the Hamilton turnaround spot and back to South Banks Park area. It was nice to write the boat as the sun was setting and see the city lights coming on. Also, once you get out of the city area and the sun has start to see thousands of bats coming into the city to settle for the night as they fly across the river. We bought a ticket for $20 Australian, which is a two hour window to ride the boat.Written 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EamonBessbrookBelfast, UK13 contributionsClass service, but when we went to land at the Dock Side, the driver did a Star Wars skit over the tannoy about arriving at the Dark Side... he had the place in stitches, it was one of the funniest things I every heard. Every passenger left with a smile on their face. Awesome :-)Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris FSlaithwaite, UK495 contributionsA very nice place to take a stroll in the middle of Brisbane. The gardens are well maintained and the is a lovely cafe in the middle of the gardens. The only negative is that some of the signage is a little misleading and could be better.Written 28 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zuzana O1 contributionAmazing experience all around. I ended up having a private guided tour with Stefanie as no one else booked for the time slot and I can't recommend her enough! Very friendly and joyful with undeniable passion for opals. I had no prior knowledge but she can go as scientific as you'd like! She even told me a bit about aboriginal myths related to opals. If you go during a weekday you can also watch the on-site jeweller at work. Highly recommend.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
