What travellers are saying
- Alfred SWhitehaven, UK442 contributionsFor a small effort in driving up the old road the views are spectacular. You can also go for a walk on a shortish trail, about 2 miles round trip. It was much better than we expected from what we had been able to research onlineWritten 19 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dbinhou7511Houston, TX1,652 contributionsPart of the old Columbia River Highway is now just a nice (paved) trail. Easy to traverse. Great overlooks of the river, highway, and railroad below. Part goes through the original tunnel which has interesting lookouts. Birds and wildlife to be seen as well.Written 6 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ljolsen12Southaven, MS40 contributionsBeautiful and peaceful winery! This was our first winery on our Oregon trip and it was amazing! We were greeted with the first pour and feel in love with their wines! The staff was so friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines. And of course, we had to buy some. I highly recommend this gem.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WeAlwaysWAnderOlympia, WA3,185 contributionsMemaloose is a popular, just off highway 84 Oregon State Park with views of the Columbia River and easy access to Hood River and all of its attractions. It is a busy compact crowded park, and not one that we would typically pick. However this trip we were on night 21 with no hookups and the forecast was to be over 100 degrees..... last minute we decided we needed a little A/C! We had no reservations on a Sunday in July and lucked out and a pretty decent spot was available, B35, with views of the river. *** I think B33, might be the best spot in the park. For a crowded park, with close together sites, it was surprisingly quiet and we had a great night sleep.Written 21 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - fifthwheelersWashington87 contributionsThis small winery just outside of Mosier is not to be missed. The staff are knowledgeable and personable and the wines are complex and of course delicious. We felt very welcomed and important to the winery. After a tasting of 6 wines we left with 4 of the wines. Great outside seating with warm heaters.Written 24 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Mike McKenziePortland, OR82 contributionsOur July 4th festivities started with a drive out 84 East to Root Orchards in Mosier, Oregon, where we picked 16 pounds of beautiful bing cherries. It was cherry heaven. The rainier cherries were a little picked over but we got in a ladder and got a couple of pints. Highly recommended activity.Written 4 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Such simple labels but very good wine. A must try for anyone passing by. Host knew quite a bit about vineyard and we enjoyed his hospitality. - Lorne BToronto, Canada534 contributionsWe didn’t make it all the way to the top. We made it to the lookout point. It was VERY hot. Over 100 degrees and there is very little shade. It’s also a pretty steep hike. I wouldn’t do this one again, except for maybe early in the spring when all the wildflowers are growing, and definitely earlier in the day.
Went back and hung out at the watering hole after that. This was a highlight. The waster was spectacular and there are also some jumping points into the pool basin. This was worth it.Written 31 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
