two cream teas cost us £19 I would assume it won't be cheap to go for a full meal.

The main restaurant offers fine dining with good service and food, but it is pricy. The bar offers more of a pub menu, but it's still a hotel bar, so expect it to be more expensive. We stayed on a 2-night package that included dinner in the restaurant on the first night. Might be worth talking to the hotel to see if they can do something for you. As others have said, Wetherby is a short taxi ride where you can find some good and more reasonable priced pubs and restaurants.

The food and drinks are rather expensive here. Very nice food though to be fair.

I concur with Richard T. You are also only 15 mins in a taxi from town where there are loads of bars and restaurants to chose from. Check out Google Maps for choices would be my advice.

Pop onto their website & there is a sample menu with prices. You can also opt for the fixed price menu at £39 per person. OR there is a great pub called the Windmill about 5 mins drive (1.5 miles) from the hotel. Menu on their website too.
