So we are considering this location to rent a villa in January. 5 adults an 2 kids, 8,11. My concern is that it seems to be secluded from the rest of the islands restaurants? Any advice for us eating out frequently? We can taxi no problem, but not if everything is 30 mins away. We will just look into the Gracy Bay area.
One more thing, Chalk Sound isn't ideal for young children, but Taylor Bay, which is right next to ChalK Sound, is!! Taylor Bay is hands down our favorite beach on the island. The 1/2 mile stretch of powder sugared sand and crystal clear shallow water makes it perfect for young children!
Chalk Sound is secluded from most restaurants. (There's only one in the area.) Car rental is a must; taxi use would be far too cost prohibitive! If you're looking for a more private experience, don't shy away from renting a car! It's super easy to get around the island. There aren't many roads on the island and the maps make it super easy to travel! (Much easier than on some islands we've been.)
We rented a car and was no problem getting over to Grace bay but I cooked at home a lot! If u want to eat out a lot I would suggest staying closer to Grace Bay. We loved Chalk sound but may be closer to action next time.
